DEBATE BACKGROUND
The genesis of
this Debate was a recent article that Chris Ingram wrote severly
criticizing a
protest
demonstration that The United West organized against the
terrorist organization,
ISNA (Islamic Society of North America). In
the article (HERE), Mr. Ingram
refers to the
patriotic
American protestors as "knuckle-draggers," who do not
understand history or Islam.
Typically,
Trento does not address such uninformed commentary as Ingram wrote, but
Tom
was particularly
angered that Ingram, a self-proclaimed, "political consultant,"
a REPUBLICAN
no less, had the
audacity to belittle men and women, many of whom served and bled in
battle
for the
USA...essentially calling them dumb, Tea Party activists. At that
point, Trento offered
a challenge to
Ingram to debate the title of Ingram's goofy article, a factually
inaccurate,
politically
uninformed and generally PRO-ISNA terrorist position.
