Meet Al Gore. You know the guy who has made more money from the environment than every logging company combined. The guy who used his moral stature as the Lorax of Washington to shake down cable networks for a prime spot for his weak MSNBC clone and then sold that clone to a terrorist dictatorship and pocketed 100 million dollars.
That guy, who still has extensive “alternative energy” interests and the world’s biggest briefcase full of terror oil money, is up in Canadadenouncing the idea that buying Canadian oil is more ethical than buying oil from the Muslim terrorist dictatorships that give him money.
When Mr. Stackhouse asked whether Alberta oil was more ethical because it came from a democratic nation with a commitment to human rights, Mr. Gore rejected the term.
“There’s no such thing as ethical oil,” he said. “There’s only dirty oil and dirtier oil.”
That statement might have more credibility if it didn’t come from a man with major conflicts of interest. Al Gore has made money from dirty Qatari oil and alternative energy. He doesn’t make money from Canadian oil.
While Al Gore goes around claiming that big money hacked democracy, he has no ethical credibility whatsoever after the Al Jazeera deal put him on the side of the dirtiest oil of all. If Gore could at one point claim to be a disinterested party, those days are long behind him. He is a wealthy and major player in the energy industry and there is no reason why he shouldn’t be treated like any other energy venture capitalist lobbying for his own economic interests, rather than some misguided green moral authority.
Al Gore’s notorious lack of ethics has haunted him in the past. Now it makes it impossible to distinguish his business interests from his ideological interests.
