Al Qaeda Threatens, Obama Praises Muslims

Al Qaeda Threatens, Obama Praises Muslims

This past weekend the US government shut down nearly two dozen embassies in the Muslim world and issued a warning to Americans traveling abroad. The concern is not only in the Middle East and North Africa but any touristy areas overseas with a particular concern regarding public transportation systems which have been Al Qaeda targets in the past. The threat comes from specific intelligence and has been called “serious.”  It is so serious in fact, that the government is now saying the closures may last for the entire month.

What is interesting in all this is that back in May, Obama had decided that America needed to step back and concentrate on other things. He stated that we are entering a new era in the war on terror and that we must adjust to the current level of threats, which in his opinion have evolved since the 9/11 attacks. Like all wars, the war on terror must end, according to the President.

Well isn’t that sweet? It would be nice to end the war on terror, however if the terror is continuing in full force but one side ends the fight, it’s a no-brainer that the other side will win. Ignoring the constant threat of terrorism is a death sentence, especially in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings, the slaughter of British soldier Lee Rigby in Woolwich, the knife attack on the French soldier who was stabbed outside of Paris in the throat, and the Benghazi attack which killed four American diplomats including US Ambassador Christopher Stevens, and occurred less than a year ago. And let’s not forget Fazliddin Kurbanov, the refugee from Uzbekistan living in Idaho who was recently arrested on terror charges; the November bombing of an Arizona social security office by Iraqi refugee jihadist Abdullatif Aldosary; the many thwarted plots which we never hear about; the hostage crisis at an Algerian natural gas plant in January where Western international workers were targeted; the frequent insurgent attacks on American and other Western soldiers in Afghanistan; etc., etc., etc.

But Obama says that the war on terror must come to an end, and he would like to return to the way things were “pre-9/11.” As CNN reported in May, this has worried some Republicans, and rightly so as we are now seeing with this recent Al Qaeda threat.

“I couldn’t disagree with him more on that,” Rep. Michael McCaul, the Republican Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” He’s not the only one.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, argued a scaled-down war footing could send the wrong message to potential enemies. “What do you think the Iranians are thinking? At the end of the day, this is the most tone-deaf president I ever could imagine, making such a speech at a time when our homeland is trying to be attacked literally every day,” Graham said on Fox News Sunday.
“I’ve never been more worried about our national security as I am right now. This speech did not help.”

Obama is putting America in a vulnerable position, and this is not acceptable. Though he seemed to think Al Qaeda’s strength was diminishing just a few months ago, now we are facing a terror threat so serious that 21 embassies and consulates had to be closed. Furthermore, we have been seeing more and more of these renegade attacks inspired by Al Qaeda’s suggestions, and these attacks are more widespread. As we continue to invite so-called refugees into the country along with other Muslim immigrants, we are inviting terrorism into our backyard.

Obama is wrong. The attacks will only become more frequent, not less. Weakening our national resolve is the worst thing he can do. Yet catering to Muslims, painting over terror attacks with political correctness, and underhandedly allowing in a growing number of Muslim immigrants, thereby increasing the terror threat at home, are all things which are commonplace in the Obama Administration.

The Islamic holy month of Ramadan is coming to an end but not before Obama had his annual White House Iftar dinner where he congratulated Muslim Americans for their help in building the nation in business, technology and medicine. He even went so far as to thank them for helping to “unlock the secrets of our universe.” Perhaps he was talking about the Muslim belief that the sun sets in murky water?

He went on to eloquently tell his Muslim guests that people should be free to practice whatever religion they choose or no religion at all. This is a terrific ideal in theory, but when a particular religion preaches the death and destruction of your civilization, it may not be such a great idea to allow this freedom without limitations.

As The Religion of Peace website reports, on Day 30 of the month of Ramadan, there have been 290 terror attacks around the world in the name of Islam during this “holy” month, yielding at least 1493 dead and 2810 wounded. Terror threats occur daily, and the West is one of the prime targets.
What this current threat should teach us is to never back down and never proclaim that the war on terror is over when it is clearly still in full force. “Wishing” Islam to be the religion of peace and “hoping” that the terrorism will stop will not make it so. Annual Iftar dinners and soothing Muslim egos will not stop groups like Al Qaeda or people like Nidal Malik Hasan, the US Army soldier currently on trial for murdering 13 and wounding 32 in the worst shooting on an American military base in history. Hasan just told the court that he is an “Islamic Holy Warrior” and that the evidence will prove that he did it. This is the kind of homegrown terrorism we can expect more of in the future, courtesy of our current immigration policies, our politically correct politicians, our steadfast resolve to allow freedom of religion, even if it means our own demise, and finally, because of giving special treatment to a group of people whose doctrine commands them to defeat the rest of the world. Something’s gotta give, and soon.
