Daniel James Murray - Feds Look For Man That Threatened Obama

Posted: 05 Jun 2009 12:40 AM PDT

Federal authorities are searching for a man who has at least
eight guns registered to him and has threatened to kill President
Obama.

The man, identified as Daniel James Murray, is charged with
making threats against the president of the United States.

He recently withdrew $85,000 from a Utah bank and told a
teller: “We are on a mission to kill the president of the United States,”
according to court papers.

Murray is originally from New York, but was seen several times
in late May in St. George, Utah, making bizarre statements at a bank.

According to a criminal complaint filed in federal court in
Utah, Murray opened an account at Zions First National Bank on May 19 with
a $85,000 check.

“With all this mess going on under President Obama with banks
and the economy, I’m sure if citizens happen to lose their money, they
will rise up and we could see killing and deaths,” he said, according to
the criminal complaint.

On May 27, he returned to the bank and tried to withdraw
$12,000, but lacked proper identification.

“Not to be disrespectful, but if I don’t get this money,
someone is going to die,” Murray said, according to the criminal
complaint.

11 Bodies, Some Mutilated Found In Car Near US Border

Posted: 04 Jun 2009 10:24 PM PDT

Mexican police found 11 bodies in an abandoned vehicle near the
U.S. border on Thursday, some with their hands and legs cut off and left
with threatening messages scrawled by suspected drug hit men.

The bodies of the men, who were shot to death, were found in
the northwestern state of Sonora in a stolen SUV with Arizona plates, the
state attorney general’s office said.

A state attorney general’s office spokesman said drug cartels
were likely behind the attack, although he declined to give details about
the messages left on the bodies.

The killings came a day after drug gangs shot up a police
station in a nearby town as violence flared in the state dominated by
Mexico’s top trafficker, Joaquin “Shorty” Guzman.

FBI Probes Muhammad’s Ties to Ohio Mosque

Posted: 04 Jun 2009 09:52 PM PDT

Nuradin Abdi was convicted in 2007 of planning to blow up an
Ohio shopping mall.

A suspect is in custody amid reports of homegrown
terrorism.

Iyman Faris was convicted in 2003 of planning to blow up the
Brooklyn Bridge.

Christopher Paul was convicted in 2008 of conspiring to use
explosives against targets in the U.S. and Europe.

All three terrorists worshiped and socialized at a small mosque
in Columbus, Ohio, and, according to David B. Smith, an attorney for
Faris, were part of a larger group of jihadists and extremists who
frequented the mosque.

The FBI now is investigating reports of links to that same
mosque by Muslim-convert Abdulhakim Muhammad who allegedly shot and killed
one soldier Monday and critically wounded another in a drive-by attack on
a Little Rock, Ark., recruiting station, ABC News has learned.

Ricin Scare Prompts Hazmat Response

Posted: 04 Jun 2009 09:37 PM PDT

A Hazmat team responded this afternoon when police found what
appeared to be ricin in an Everett Washington home at 1208 50th Street
SW.

The situation started out as an alleged domestic violence
assault. The 43-year-old victim was hospitalized, and an FBI spokesperson
says after she got out, she discovered the hazardous materials and
reported them to police.

Everett police recognized that the materials could be ricin,
according to the FBI, and the scene was contained.

Hazmat crews said they found both the components to make ricin
along with what appears to be the finished product in an office in the
home.

The domestic violence suspect, the woman’s 46-year-old husband,
is being hospitalized and will be taken into custody.

[...]

The FBI says this is not a terrorism-related incident.

While even the tiniest bit of ricin can be deadly, you have to
be in very close contact with the toxin in order for it to get in your
bloodstream.

For this reason, the FBI says the incident is not a public
health threat. No homes have been evacuated.

Gun Found on US Airways Plane at PHL Airport

Posted: 04 Jun 2009 08:59 AM PDT

UPDATE: The FBI charged a US Airways employee
with helping his roommate get a concealed, semiautomatic handgun onto a
plane departing Philadelphia early Thursday.

Customer service agent Roshid Milledge switched black carry-on
bags with passenger Damien Young at the gate so Young could board the 7 am
flight to Phoenix with the unloaded 9 mm weapon, the FBI said in an
affidavit.

Young, 29, was moving to Phoenix and had asked Milledge about
the procedures for transporting guns. Milledge, 38, instead agreed to
carry the bag through an employee entrance so it would not be screened by
security.

An alert fellow passenger saw the switch and, sensing that
Milledge seemed “fidgety,” raised concerns. Young, already on the plane,
allegedly denied to a US Airways manager that he had switched bags with
anyone. The plane then started to taxi, but was soon called back to the
gate so Young could be removed.

He then admitted the bag was his and both men gave statements,
the FBI said. Milledge told agents he had grabbed the wrong laptop bag
from their Philadelphia home that morning and was switching it back.

The gun is registered to Young, and he had a valid permit to
carry it, authorities said.

Original Story ——–

employee to may have been authorized to bypass the security screening
line. The witness reported the incident to the TSA.

The bag was located on the plane and found to contain an
unloaded 9mm handgun. The gun and the bag were confiscated, and the
passenger and the US Airways employee were taken into custody for
questioning.

The rest of the plane was searched as a precaution.

The FBI, Philadelphia police, and the TSA were continuing to
investigate.

The 7:10am US Airways flight from Philadelphia to Phoenix was
