JOIN US ON WEDNESDAY FOR AN EDUCATIONAL FREE WEBINAR: SHARIAH FINANCE: WHAT EVERY ELECTED OFFICIAL SHOULD KNOW This invitation is going out today to more than 9,000 ACT! for America volunteers. Last November, you were invited to participate in a groundbreaking webcast conference entitled, “Radical Islam’s Threat to America,” held by the American Congress for Truth, our “sister” organization and educational and research foundation. Elected officials at all levels of government received this invitation as part of our ongoing effort to educate on the very real and very dangerous threat of radical Islam within our nation. We hope you were able to view the various speakers who made presentations during our November webcast, including our founder, Brigitte Gabriel. More than 10,000 viewers participated in the day-long conference, making it the #1 streamed event viewed nationally, and the #4 viewed internationally, that day. Through the webcast, participants learned about such matters as: a Basic History of Islam; the Ideologies and Strategies of Global Jihad; Shariah Islamic Law and Implications for the West; the Muslim Brotherhood Project and Stealth Jihad; and Strategies and Tactics for Successfully Combating the Threat of Radical Islam—to name but a few topics. (We are planning to have a second webcast conference in the spring of 2010, to which you will receive an invitation. We hope you will be able to participate.) Another critical, though relatively unknown, issue addressed during the November webcast was Shariah Finance: How the U.S. banking system is being used to financially support Radical Islam. The presentation was made by Joy Brighton, a former Wall Street trader and MBA. Joy is abundantly familiar with the issue of Shariah Finance, also known as Islamic banking, and the risks associated with it. ACT for America is working with Joy Brighton and others to educate elected officials at all levels of government about this parallel banking system growing within America. Shariah banking violates U.S. securities law in that it is not transparent, lacks full disclosure and is a back door for terror financing. AIG, Citigroup, and HSBC are just a few examples of organization who are NOW offering Shariah Compliant Products—without full disclosure to their customers about exactly what is involved with these products, how they are tied to Shariah law, and what exactly Shariah law IS. As another example of how Shariah Finance is rapidly growing in our nation, General Electric just recently issued a $500,000 Shariah Islamic Bond called a “Sukuk.” Goldman Sachs and Citigroup were the lead sellers of this Islamic GE bond. Please join us in the coming weeks, as we commence a series of one-hour Webinars for elected officials on the issue of Shariah Finance entitled: Shariah Finance: What Elected Officials Should Know.” The first half of the discussion will be an overview of the issue by Joy Brighton and the second half will offer the opportunity for participants to ask whatever questions they may have. We will lay out some clear action steps that you as local lawmakers can take in concert with other local jurisdictions around America to expose this financial danger which will impact your constituents. We have already test piloted this discussion with selected lawmakers and they have found it to be informative, action-oriented and interactive. Please join us and decide for yourself. Sheik Yusuf Al-Qaradawi—one of the most respected Shariah Finance Experts (and a terrorist banned both in the U.S. and UK) has called the charitable giving mandate imbedded in Shariah Finance “Jihad with money.” Unfortunately, it is not only our U.S. Armed Forces in the Middle East who are fighting the battle against radical Islam. As the arrests of terrorism suspects such as Daniel Patrick Boyd, and Najibullah Zazi, the recent horrific killing spree at Ft. Hood by Nidal M. Hasan, and the close call onboard Northwest Airlines flight 253—as well as countless other examples—clearly demonstrate, the battle is very much alive here on U.S. soil as well.
