As we begin 2016, the Clarion Project continues to alert and educate the world about the growing threat of Islamist extremism and inspire international dialogue and action. Our films and web content are reaching, engaging and empowering growing audiences, and thanks to our passionate, dedicated spokespeople – National Security Analyst Prof. Ryan Mauro and human rights activist Raheel Raza – we are keeping these issues at the forefront of call-to-action discussion.

New Release!


Faithkeepers is an upcoming documentary film (to be released March 2016) exposing the violent persecution of Christians and other religious minorities in the Middle East. 


2015 Achievements


Honor Diaries


Honor Diaries is a film exploring abuses of women’s rights in Muslim-majority societies. Since its launch two years ago, Honor Diaries continues to make a major impact in bringing the conversation about Islamist extremism to the forefront of public and political debate:
  • US Department of Justice report cites Honor Diaries as an insightful documentary on the issue of honor violence.  
  • Won the 2015 Free Speech Award at American INSIGHT's Free Speech Festival
  • Four other awards: Best Documentary: Interfaith Award, Best Documentary, Best Feature Documentary and Special Jury Prize
  • Accepted to 17 Film Festivals

Short-Video Campaigns

Our latest video, By The Numbers (released December 10), attracted over 2.8 million YouTube and Facebook views by the end of 2015, with minimal investment.

Ahead of the Iran nuclear agreement, we launched seven short films, with five hitting the web during the actual June-July negotiating period. The films reached 2.2 million people, spurred 60,000 letters to Congress.

Ryan Mauro, Clarion’s National Security Analyst
  • Prof. Mauro prepared an in-depth research paper about the 2016 US presidential candidates and where they stand on issues of Iran, Islamist extremism, and more.
