Applauds Passage of Iran-Russia-North Korea Sanctions Bill
New
York, NY-
United Against
Nuclear Iran (UANI) today applauded Congress' passage of the
Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act. The
Iranian regime's actions continue to threaten regional stability and
the security of the United States and its allies, and this new
legislation is urgently needed.
"Yesterday's
bipartisan vote by Congress is yet another warning to Iran that its
increasingly destabilizing and reckless aggression remains
unacceptable to the United States," said UANI Chairman and former U.S.
Senator Joseph I. Lieberman. "Unless and until
Tehran is ready to become a responsible member of the international
community, it will continue to be treated as a pariah state, and
companies will face severe risks in doing business with the
Ayatollah," added UANI
CEO and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mark D. Wallace.
This month, UANI
unveiled a new
resource outlining the flaws in the nuclear accord and proposing
new ways to strengthen the agreement.
Led by a group of former leading diplomats and lawmakers, UANI is in
the midst of raising world attention about the corporate risks of
doing business with Iran, warning hundreds of international companies
that are eyeing Tehran as a new investment opportunity.
