Panetta on Benghazi: 'This is
not 911'
I am outraged and you should be too.
"This is not 911," outgoing Defense Secretary
Leon Panetta said in an interview which aired Sunday on CNN's "State
of the Union. He continued:
"You cannot just
simply call and expect within two minutes to have a team in place. It takes
time. That's the nature of it. Our people are there, they're in position to
move, but we've got to have good intelligence that gives us a heads up that
something's going to happen."
Are you kidding me?!
It's shocking that the harder we search for the truth on Benghazi the
further we seem to get from it. Panetta's comments are an outrage!
The American people
deserve the truth.
A U.S. Ambassador and heroic Navy SEALs were left to die and we still have
the Administration lying, the Defense Secretary making excuses, and
Secretary of State testifying to Congress "What difference, at this
point, does it make?"
Well, here's the
difference it makes: No
one has been held accountable! No one has explained why the American public
was deceived about of the attack! And now Leon Panetta is
joining the official chorus of denials.
So will you make an
immediate contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more right now to support
OPSEC's continuing mission to stop politicians and administration officials
who put their own political careers before American national security?
So now it's up to us to hold them accountable!
While the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and Navy SEALs were fighting for their
lives, politicians in Washington were only interested in saving themselves.
And today they continue to lie, cover up, and make excuses for their
failure to act when brave Americans in harm's way needed their support.
OPSEC exists because issues like the Benghazi attacks are critical to the
safety of our soldiers and of our nation. We must continue to aggressively expose
the leaks and dangerous practices that unnecessarily and substantially increase the risks to
Special Operations and intelligence personnel.
Sincerely,
Thanks,
Scott Taylor
Chairman, OPSEC
PS: Seriously Mr. Secretary? We need to end the official chorus of denials
and get down to the truth! So will you make an
immediate contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more right now to support
OPSEC's continuing mission to stop politicians and administration officials
who put their own political careers before American national security?
