

Each
memo dealt with assorted developments in Libya, including the September 11,
2012 attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi. One memo marked
"Confidential" was sent to Clinton on September 12.
In the senatorial name-calling,
one senses a certain desperation, a fear on the part of McCain and Graham
that the ground beneath them is shifting. There's good reason for that.
As Barack Obama prepares for his
first trip to Israel as president, I hope when he gets there he sees what I
saw.
For some reason, a news story
about the examination of future options has brought out certain cave
dwellers to complain the US is planning for nuclear Armageddon. Relax
folks, calm down.
Here's my solution: use the
reality TV format. Once the field has been sufficiently winnowed, broadcast
the "finals" of this nomination-by-ordeal.
Though it highlights the failure
of the Obama administration's policies toward North Korea in the first term
in general, it's a good idea for a couple of reasons.
