Thank you for supporting UANI in 2013. Your support resulted in projects and programming that contributed to the isolation of the Iranian regime - isolation that forced Iran to the negotiating table just a few months ago.
More must be done. The interim agreement struck in Geneva is disproportionate and leaves Iran with the ability to produce enough weapons-grade uranium for a bomb in as little as 2 months. In addition:
- The agreement allows for a mutually defined enrichment program.
- The agreement does not require Iran to dismantle a single centrifuge.
UANI, along with a bipartisan majority of U.S. Senators, firmly believes that more pressure must be placed on the Iranian regime. Unfortunately, the White House has wrongly characterized those who support more sanctions as "dishonest warmongers."
Clearly it is nonsensical and out of bounds to say that a bipartisan majority of U.S. Senators secretly wants war with Iran.
Sanctions are a non-violent policy tool used to avoid war. It was, after all, President Obama himself who, in his Nobel Prize acceptance speech, described sanctions as "alternatives to violence" that must be "tough enough to actually change behavior."
