Dear Friends,
Very alarming news. The images don't show up here, but you can go to the article. Anyway, this info is straight from TEPCO, so can't be disputed. The implications are horrendous- this must mean that at least one of the coriums is in direct contact with the groundwater. As I understand it, groundwater is flowing freely, unmeasured, into the Pacific. It's not included in the 300-400 tons coming from the storage tank overflow.
The plan to stop groundwater flow with an ice wall is untested, and will take a couple of years- meanwhile, the Pacific food chain is more and more contaminated.
We need an emergency meeting of the UN to discuss what to do. There is a resolution drafted which would send an international team in to help and oversee. And international resources should be mobilized- it's too much for one country, and affects the whole planet.
Please sign and circulate both these petitions. Link and article follow.
Peace, Carol Wolman
