Empowering the Foremost State Sponsor of Terrorism

What a new report from Obama's own State Department reveals about the president's dangerous deal with Iran.
The report reveals that “In 2014, Iran continued to provide arms, financing, training and the facilitation of primarily Iraq Shia and Afghan fighters to support the Assad regime’s brutal crackdown.”
Terrorist attacks across the globe have ratcheted up by more than a third. The number of people who have died by these terrorist attacks soared by 80 percent in 2014.
The Islamic Republic can be characterized as being directly and indirectly engaged as a major factor behind the spike of terrorism worldwide. President Obama needs to be cognizant of the fact that as the nuclear talks continue, the Islamic Republic’s aggressive foreign policies should not be ignored.
Islamic Republic Is One of the Fathers of the Islamic State
The Syrian conflict can be viewed as the primary source of the increased terrorism across the world. Iran’s Quds Force (an elite branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps which intervenes in foreign countries and operates in extraterritorial landscapes) has been spending billions of dollars, funding and arming Syrian government forces in order to preserve one of the most despicable dictators of our time, Bashar Al Assad.
The relentless, persistent and continuous security, military, intelligence and advisory support of the Iranian government to Assad has undoubtedly fueled extremism in Syria and beyond. One can make the argument that the Islamic Republic is indeed one of the fathers of the Islamic States and has significantly contributed to empowering this terrorist group. If it was not for Iran’s military and financial support, Assad would have been overthrown long time ago, and the conflict would not have spiraled into uncontrollable radicalism, antagonism and extremism. In other words, the Islamic Republic has played a key role in “prolonging the civil war in Syria and worsening the human rights and refugee crisis there.”
Nevertheless, what is President Obama’s solution for this problem? From his perspective, he still argues that a nuclear deal is the solution.
A nuclear deal? A deal that will pave the way to remove all financial and economic sanctions on the Islamic Republic? A nuclear deal that will provide the ruling clerics of Iran with billions of dollars to intensify their support for terrorism, support for Shiite militia groups, support for Hezbollah?
In addition, more striking news indicates that the Islamic Republic is assisting Al Qaeda members from being held accountable in a court of law. The State Department's annual report for terrorism states that “Iran remained unwilling to bring to justice senior Al Qaeda members it continued to detain and refused to publicly identify those senior members in its custody.”
Instead of holding the theocratic government of the Islamic Republic accountable for its terrorist activities and sponsoring terrorism worldwide, President Obama seems to be providing the Islamic Republic with a platform for all economic sanctions to be lifted against Tehran. This will lead to significant repercussions.
For example, in one recent incident, the survivors of Iran’s 1983 bombing of the US embassy in Beirut won the legal case after suing the Islamic Republic for damages. The Iranian regime owes millions of dollars to the victims. A nuclear deal will completely remove the possibility of holding the ruling clerics and high officials of IRGC accountable and bringing them to justice.
As the Islamic Republic is engaged in the nuclear talks with the Obama administration, Iranian officials have never changed their strategy of supporting Iran’s proxies. As the reports states, “Iran has historically provided weapons, training, and funding to Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups, including Palestine Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC),” adding that “these Palestinian terrorist groups have been behind a number of deaths from attacks originating in Gaza and the West Bank.”
As the country report on terrorism shows, President Obama is still unwilling to address concerns with regard to the Islamic Republic and its proxy puppet Hezbollah, which are "directly threaten[ing] the interests of the United State and our allies." It is crucial to point out that Iran’s threat in 2015 has intensified. It is not difficult to witness Iran’s aggressive foreign policy and its sponsorship for terrorism. But the dilemma is to figure out why President Obama is incapable of seeing these threats or taking them seriously. Is he so focused on recording his name in American history as the first president who reached a nuclear deal with Iran that he is willing to endanger the security of the world and leave the world and US allies with the serious threat of an empowered foremost state sponsor of terrorism?
