ISIS jihadis slaughtered as they run into SPECIAL FORCES and RAF jets during failed attack
HUNDREDS of Islamic State (ISIS) jihadis met their comeuppance last night after the cowardly terrorists launched a major attack against apparently defenceless communities - only to come under fire from elite special forces and RAF jets.
Around 200 crazed terrorists were mown down by elite Canadian troops who rushed to the frontline to help pinned down Kurdish peshmerga forces protect their lands from the twisted invaders.
RAF bombers also joined in on the action, bombing the jihadis from the skies as their attempted invasion ended in panic and a full-on retreat.
But the hapless jihadis had not banked on running into elite Canadian special forces troops, who were camped with the Peshmerga forces operating in an advisory role.
US officials said at least 300 jihadis were involved in the assault during which they used bulldozers and tanks to try and breach allied lines. But the terrorists suffered overwhelming losses in the botched invasion, with two thirds of their force being obliterated before the rest fled in terror.
Colonel Steve Warren from the US military said: "This was the hardest punch ISIL had thrown since this summer, and the peshmerga defeated them."
Major-General Charles Lamarre from the Canadian army revealed his troopers had helped rout a "concentrated and well coordinated attack" by the jihadis on Wednesday night.
He said: “The Kurds came under effective fire and our guys were close enough and able to respond with fire onto those ISIL positions. They were involved in the fighting right from the word go.
“It was a departure from what they have done in the past. There was an element of surprise that ISIL was able to bring to it.”
