Report Highlights Newest Al-Qaeda Chapter

CEP's new resources document the history and tactics of al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), and its mysterious, Indian-born emir, Asim Omar. AQIS was founded in 2014 by al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. AQIS has tried to seize a Pakistani navy ship loaded with missiles and has carried out the murders of secular publishers, college professors, and gay rights activists in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
