Taiji, Japan: On this date last year (11/19/15 - 11/22/15), a beautiful pod of pilot whales with many calves and juveniles were driven into The Cove. It was the beginning of four days of torture and terror. One by one, their lives were extinguished. The pilot whales fought for one another and stayed together through it all. When it was over, the survivors refused to leave and were forcibly taken and dumped back out at sea.
