LBC
host James O'Brien has said he supports German Chancellor Angela
Merkel's pledge to ban the burka in Germany where it is "legally
possible to do so".
Mrs Merkel's U-turn will likely result in the wearing of full-face veils being stopped in public buildings in Germany.
Speaking
on his radio show on Wednesday, O'Brien said he got “mullered” by
Muslim women the last time he discussed the matter for suggesting they
were “repressed or in any way exploited”.
He said: “I didn’t believe them. I still don’t.
“I find
the argument absurd and this notion that it is some sort of response to
the male inability to control their urges, I find abhorrent. I'm sorry,
I am free to say that I find it bogus.
“I
find it grim and I don't like walking up a street with my daughters and
seeing women with their face covered. Because there is an implicit
suggestion that my daughters are doing something wrong.
“That my wife is indulging in sl***ish behaviour or some form of promiscuity by walking around with their face on display.
“It's actually ridiculous.”
