Canada cries PC tears for a favored religion
A
veteran Canadian educator says his prime minister is endangering the
country with politically correct views about Muslims and Islam.
"Diversity is our strength
and religious tolerance is a value that we, as Canadians, hold dear,"
Justin Trudeau proclaimed over the weekend, when the Trump
administration announced an "extreme vetting" from seven Middle Eastern
countries.
The left-wing prime minister's statement
also came after a weekend terrorist attack, allegedly by a white
nationalist known to authorities, killed six people at a Quebec City
mosque.
When the prime minister talks about
"diversity," says Dr. Charles McVety, president of Canada Christian
College, he is speaking only of Muslims.
Trudeau made headlines a year ago
when announcing the Canadian government planned to use funds from the
country's defense department to build taxpayer-supported mosques for
Muslim refugees.
Canada, meanwhile, is home to a Christian
law school at Trinity University that has fought legal efforts to deny
it accreditation, and McVety himself once fought a left-wing effort to
boot him off the airwaves for his biblical views about sexuality.
Canada's left-wing prime minister also
pledged that Canada would accept any refugees who are denied entry into
the United States.
"Really?" asks McVety. "If America denies a
refugee because they have a history of terrorism," he asks, "are they
going to accept that terrorist into this country of Canada to wreak
havoc on my families and my neighbors' families?"
"Our society is becoming more and more
dangerous every day," warns McVety, "and part of that is because Justin
Trudeau is recklessly bringing people into this country."
