The Taliban claimed credit for complex suicide assaults in Kabul
earlier today. The jihadists hit military, police, and intelligence buildings
in the Afghan capital.

The commander of US Forces in Afghanistan used Mullah Abdul
Salam's death to encourage the Taliban to reconcile with the Afghan
government, but the Taliban has no desire for peace.
