UANI Resource: Iran Risk Snapshot
New
York, NY: United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI)
today released a new tool that graphically demonstrates the risks of
doing business with Iran. Displaying 27 financial, legal and
sociopolitical indices from leading global organizations, the Iran
Risk Snapshot lays bare the fact that Iran consistently ranks at
or near the bottom of every measure of business environment.
Navigating Iran's already treacherous and risky business environment
got even tougher on October 13, when President Trump opted to
"decertify" the Iran nuclear deal (Joint Comprehensive Plan
of Action or JCPOA); warned that he was prepared to withdraw from the
JCPOA if no meaningful changes were made to the agreement; and
designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in its
entirety as a terror organization.
"It's time for Western firms to decide: America or Iran, but not
both - the 'wait and see' approach is clearly no longer tenable given
the overwhelming risks for responsible businesses," said UANI
CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace.
Whether
or not Congress ultimately decides to re-impose sanctions on Iran
ahead of December 12, the hundreds of Western companies that have
signaled their intention to enter the Iranian market can no longer
ignore the myriad risks inherent in doing business with Iran. Western
companies must now "come off the fence" and make a choice:
America's $19 trillion market or Iran's $400 billion market.
