While serving in the United States Senate, she was a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services, served as Chair of the Subcommittee on Readiness and Management Support, and on the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities and the Subcommittee on Seapower. Additionally, she served as a member of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and on the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and the Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management.
