UANI Welcomes Jeb Bush and Bill Richardson as Newest
Advisory Board Members
New
leaders add to bipartisan reach as group opens new front in Iran debate;
Added leadership shows growing consensus on how status quo
with Iran remains unacceptable.
New
York, NY - United
Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), the nonpartisan, not-for-profit advocacy
organization at the forefront of a national education campaign designed
to highlight the risks of doing business with the Iranian regime, today
announced the addition of two renowned leaders to its Advisory Board: Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush
and former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson.
Led by a group of former leading diplomats and lawmakers, UANI is warning
hundreds of companies that may be contemplating Tehran as a new
investment opportunity. The two new board members will play a critical
role in amplifying that message.
The new additions represent UANI's growing international reach and expand
the group's defense and foreign policy credentials. Governors Bush and
Richardson enjoy reputations built on substantial knowledge of complex
issues and extensive relationships that reach across the American
political spectrum and the world.
Governor Bush brings a private sector perspective, having consulted with
major corporations after leaving office, and the stature of being a
respected former chief executive of a major state, one which is
especially concerned about the Iranian threat. Governor Richardson brings
a deep understanding of political and international issues honed as a
former Member of Congress, Secretary of Energy, US Ambassador to the
United Nations, and Governor of New Mexico.
"UANI is honored to have these distinguished and extraordinarily
respected leaders join our advisory board," said UANI's Chairman Senator Joseph I.
Lieberman and UANI's CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace.
"They underscore the growing bipartisan consensus that the status
quo with Iran remains unacceptable, despite the nuclear deal - whether it
is Iran's growing support for terrorism, regional military ambitions, or
its human rights abuses."
As part of its campaign to highlight the dangers of business with the
Iranian regime, UANI has identified a matrix
of 10 key risk categories businesses and sovereign states face should
they pursue deals with Tehran.
