UANI IN THE NEWS
"From a military standpoint, the unveiling of the
'Kowsar-88' is not significant at all," said Jordan Steckler,
Iran research analyst at the US-based think tank United Against
Nuclear Iran. "Today's unveiling is best understood as being for
domestic propaganda purposes, coming at a time when the regime faces
mounting internal pressure due to the re-imposition of US sanctions,
as well as escalating protests over its economic and environmental
mismanagement and corruption." "The sanctions regime against
Iran has effectively limited its ability to maintain its ageing fleet
and increased its reliance on China and Russia for parts," said
Mr Steckler. "The notion that Iran's air force poses a deterrent
to the US, Israel, or America's Gulf allies is not credible".

A senior Iranian cleric warned Washington on Wednesday

be targeted, as a war of words escalated after the United States
reimposed sanctions on Iran. Ahmad Khatami also told worshippers
attending Eid prayers in Tehran that President Donald Trump's offer
of talks with Iranian leaders was unacceptable as the U.S. leader
wanted Tehran to concede on its missile program and regional
influence.
MILITARY/INTELLIGENCE MATTERS & PROXY WARS
Military experts have cast doubt on claims that a
fighter jet unveiled by Tehran as the first to be produced solely in
Iran represents a technological advance, drawing comparisons to
American warplanes sold to the Shah half a century ago.
Renewed naval exercises, missile tests, and other

others to fund post-war reconstruction there, U.S. National Security
