Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Monday urged the
remaining signatories to its 2015 nuclear agreement to act to save
the pact, although France's leader called again for broader talks on
Tehran's missile program and its role in the Middle East region.
The head of the navy of Iran's Revolutionary Guards,
General Alireza Tangsiri, said on Monday that Iran had full control
of the Gulf and the U.S. Navy did not belong there, according to the
Tasnim news agency.
Iran has signed a deal to rebuild Syria's armed forces,
which have been depleted by more than seven years civil war, Iranian

The United States says its re-imposition of sanctions
against Iran is a legal and justified national security measure that
cannot be challenged by Tehran at the United Nations' highest court.
U.S. State Department legal advisor Jennifer Newstead on Tuesday
urged judges at the International Court of Justice to reject an
urgent request by Iran to order the suspension of sanctions
re-imposed by President Donald Trump in May.
The Trump administration deserves credit for withdrawing
from the disastrous Iran nuclear deal... Now that the president has
decided to impose "snapback" sanctions on Iran, we can now
focus our economic power on the destabilizing behavior of the Iranian
government... As our Treasury Department continues to bring back
sanctions against Iran, the department should pay attention to these
issues and keep a close watch over the actions of both the Qatari and
Iranian governments, as well as Hezbollah's illicit activities around

A 21-year-old student in Iran has been sentenced to
seven years in prison for taking part in university protests, her
lawyer and Iranian media said on Monday. Parisa Rafei, an arts
student at the University of Tehran, was convicted of "assembly
with the intention of acting against national security, propaganda
against the system and disrupting public order," according to
reformist newspaper Shargh.
U.S.-IRAN RELATIONS & NEGOTIATIONS
Iran will overcome newly reimposed U.S. measures against
Tehran, sanctions that will only serve to unify the nation, President
Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday.
A major shipping route located between Oman and Iran
where nearly one-third of the world's sea-traded oil passes through
daily may become a new flashpoint after a top Iranian Navy general
said Monday that the country has taken full control of the Strait of
Hormuz. The head of the navy of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Gen.
Alireza Tangsiri, said that Iran had full control of both the Persian
Gulf itself and the Strait of Hormuz that leads into it, Reuters
reported.

A top Iranian military commander says his country has
full control of the Persian Gulf and the United States Navy does not
belong there. The commander, General Alireza Tangsiri, is head of the
navy for Iran's Revolutionary Guards. Iran's Tasnim news agency
reported his comments.

Pressures mounted on Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on
Tuesday as lawmakers summoned him to answer questions on weak
economic growth and rising prices, but the parliament was not
convinced by his answers and referred the case to the judiciary.

In a telephone conversation with Emir of Qatar Sheikh
Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Sunday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani
called for Iranian companies to be part in the "construction
projects in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup."
