Visit our News page January 16, 2014 A Personal Message from Brigitte Gabriel: Save the Date for the 2014 ACT! for America National Conference & Legislative Briefing September 11th was a defining moment in America’s history. It changed the way we live as a nation, the way we think, the way we work, travel and the way we define freedom. For me September 11th was a defining juncture in my life. It was my defining moment as an American immigrant who lost her country of birth to radical Islam. It was on this terrible day in 2001 that I realized the enemy I thought I had escaped in my native Lebanon had followed me here to the U.S. On September 11, 2001, as I looked into the frightened eyes of my young daughters, I pledged to devote the rest of my life to doing all that I can to protect my newly-adopted country, the United States. That day I was reborn as an activist – and ACT! for America was born. This year, our National Conference and Legislative Briefing will be held September 10th through the 12th in Washington DC. This year has a special significance. We will be remembering not one, but two 9/11 attacks on our nation. One in New York and one in Benghazi! This year, our conference attendees will gather in our nation’s capital to honor the memory of those who were lost, and send a very clear message to our elected officials that national security is a priority that they cannot ignore. This is a time when national security will be in the forefront of everyone’s minds, but especially our elected officials. The conference will be held at Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia – a wonderful venue close to Reagan National Airport, as well as dining, shopping, the Metro, and all of the wonderful attractions that our nation’s capital has to offer.
