Washington Post: Are ISIS Beheaders and Rapists Actually Victims?

How terrible is this Washington Post article by Justin Moyer about ISIS? This terrible.
Qureshi’s statement challenges popular perceptions of Westerners who join the Islamic State. Those who flee democracies to fight under black banners are often called traitors and madmen. But are they actually victims? You know those guys engaging in ethnic cleansing? The ones carrying out mass murder and taking young girls as slaves? What if they’re the victims.
Justin Moyer then writes the following sentence, “CAGE highlights some of the United Kingdom’s crimes against Islam.”
Yes, you read that correctly. “Crimes against Islam.”
So the ISIS beheader had no choice. He was driven to it. Driven.
“In a detailed history of Emwazi’s contacts with the group, CAGE outlines how he was driven to the machete.”Obviously standards have slipped after Amazon’s Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post, and WaPo has gotten deep and deeper into bed with CAGE, but Justin Moyer’s post is the next best thing to straight ISIS propaganda.
The entire post appears to have been written by CAGE, a group with strong sympathies for Islamic terrorists. But that’s not shocking. The media’s bias on these issues is well known. But it tends to stop short of claiming that ISIS terrorists are the victims.
Let’s skip to its final paragraph.
Even identifying Emwazi may be part of a broader attack on British Muslims, one Muslim activist told Vice.Anjem Choudary is certainly an activist… for imposing an Islamic State on the UK. He praised the 9/11 attacks, is a member of an illegal organization and his activists have been responsible for terrorist attacks in the UK.
Emwazi “was affected by British foreign policy … he has been forced to act because of the British government,” Anjem Choudary said. “I think the naming of his identity is timed to synchronize with governmental policy. It is another attack to demonize the Muslim community.”
These aren’t subtle points.
I have yet to see an article that defends Choudary or treats him as a legitimate figure in any mainstream media outlet. It’s one of those red lines that doesn’t normally get crossed.
Some of this might be blamed on Justin Moyer’s stupidity, but let’s look at the Vice post that he links to in that last paragraph.
Radical London-based preacher Anjem Choudary claimed to VICE News that Emwazi’s unmasking had been deliberately timed to “synchronize” with British government policy.Justin Moyer deliberately changed “radical London-based preacher” to “Muslim activist”. This is no longer ignorance.
So the Washington Post now has lower journalistic standards than Vice. And it’s running straight ISIS propaganda. And if you still pay for a subscription, you’re funding it.
So is Wayfair.com which has ads right next to it.
