Crowe Horwath openly maintains a member firm in Iran, Hoshiyar/Behmand & Co. At the same time, Crowe Horwath does business in the U.S. via Illinois-based member firm Crowe Horwath LLP, the ninth largest professional services network in the U.S.   In a letter sent to Crowe Horwath executives, UANI CEO, Ambassador Mark D. Wallace, wrote: ... Crowe Horwath openly maintains a member firm in Iran, Hoshiyar/Behmand & Co. As a member firm, Hoshiyar/Behmand is an integrated member of the global Crowe Horwath brand, has access to multinational business opportunities, benefits from referrals from other member firms, and has access to Crowe Horwath technical manuals. UANI strongly believes that Crowe Horwath should not enable the provision of such vital professional and financial services to the Iranian government and entities, and foreign companies in Iran at a time when the international community is working to economically isolate the regime in response to its nuclear program, support for terrorism and gross human rights violations.                Crowe Horwath should also consider how its Iran business dealings could affect its extensive business in the United States. Crowe Horwath LLP of Oak Brook, Illinois is the U.S.-based member firm of Crowe Horwath International, which itself is headquartered in New York City. The firm ranks as the ninth largest professional services network in the U.S., with revenue of $595.13 million in 2012. UANI's Accounting Campaign highlights the practices of international accounting networks and associations that maintain member or correspondent firms in Iran. These Iranian member and correspondent accounting firms greatly benefit from membership in these respected brand name accounting networks and associations. Iranian accounting firms commonly provide services for the Iranian government, blacklisted Iranian entities, and firms in Iran's sanctioned oil and gas sector.   This year, UANI has called on British accounting networks Grant Thornton and RSM to pull out of Iran. In response to UANI's campaign, KPMG severed ties with its Iranian member firm, and PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young informed UANI that they had previously discontinued business relationships in Iran.
