The
recent reopening of a border crossing between Israel and Syria holds the
hope of stability as the Syrian war draws to a close. But if Iran,
Hizballah, and allied radical Shi'ite militias have their way, Syria will
be hijacked and turned into a radical Iranian power projection base. Any
hopes
for stability would then give way to destabilizing conflict,
terrorism, and new threats to Israel and Jordan.

A Chicago-based man is charged with conspiring to provide material

others to carry out terrorist attacks," a criminal complaint
unsealed Friday said.

Bahraini Terrorists
Palestinian terrorists belonging to the Popular Front for the
Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC) and the Palestine
Liberation Army (PLA) and Hizballah trained Bahraini Shiite
terrorists in camps near Damascus. Dissident Syrian military
officers told the London-based Arabic newspaper Al-Hayat that
the Assad regime and Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps
(IRGC) supervised the training.

former head of counterterrorism in Jordan was murdered on Tuesday in
Madaba, a city near Amman. According to local reports, retired Maj.-Gen.
Habis al-Hanini was shot by a gunman in front of his house in Madaba.
Al-Hanini played a pivotal role in confronting terrorism and
extremism in Jordan, which has been a key ally of the US in
the war on al-Qaeda and Islamic State.
