The Islamic State (IS) militants have
arrested 13 women in Mosul for refusing temporary marriage (nikah). They
have been detained in unknown locations.
Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP)
official from Mosul Saed Mamuzini told BasNews that IS insurgents
continue kidnapping women in territories under their control.
“On Sunday, IS militants arrested 13 women in Mosul and later held them in unknown locations,” said Mamuzini.
He went on, “The women were kidnapped because they refused nikah with the jihadists.”
Mamuzini also revealed that the
extremists executed three women at the IS base of Ghazlan, located in
the south west of Mosul, for the same reason.
The Iraqi Human Rights Ministry
previously announced that an IS leader named Abu Anas Libyan has killed
150 Iraqi women who refused nikah, some of whom were pregnant.
