“No doubt there are freedoms we have
to contend with in the Western world. But with these freedoms come great
responsibilities. One cannot go about brandishing a firearm, threatening
everybody, just to exercise their freedom to bear arms. Similarly, one has to
be aware so as not to transgress another’s right to believe (freedom of
religion) in the context of exercising one’s own right to free speech. Moral
responsibility dictates understanding that there are limitations to all sorts
of rights, and we cannot run rampant with those rights without taking into
account another’s rights. Having a right does not mean we can and should
trample upon somebody else’s rights.”
