It is nigh impossible, indeed a herculean effort, to convince indoctrinated true believers to embrace a paradigm shift, even if their lives depend on it. Reversing course, despite irrefutable evidence to their long-cherished beliefs, is as horrific to them as dodging flying bullets. Maybe even more so. It rarely happens.
The “religion” of choice for a preponderance of western academics – including many in Israel, as well as their deluded diaspora Jewish brethren – rests upon the pillars of multiculturalism via inter-faith dialogue, its end point being “conflict resolution”. Their fealty to the “art” is so devoid of reality and the inherent facts on the ground, they ignore centuries old differences between cultures, that are not only diametrically opposed but simply unbridgeable.
Consider this doozy (http://frontpagemag.com/2012/raymond-ibrahim/sodomy-for-the-sake-of-islam/) , thus placing it under a new category for “conflict resolution” - naming it, “you can’t make this sh-t up” – further refuting the lunacy/idiocy that Islam and the west are compatible. Never and never.
Many academics just refuse to take NO for an answer, still hoping to drag other actors, steeped in centuries of religious/political doctrine (shunning/blasting everything to do with western values/advances, other than those that can be used to advance their jihad) to a satisfying resolution through jaw-jaw. For heavens sake, let it go!
Besides, how’s that working out for our western know-it-alls, even as the “Arab Spring” turns into an Arab nightmare of global proportions? Has anyone ever tried to reason with an out of control two year old in the midst of a meltdown? In a similar vein (but on steroids), attempting to convince Muslims/Islamists that jihad is a dead end goal, is akin to banging ones head against the wall, but with more than a headache in the process!
Readers, do not despair. Specifically, draw your attention to his most recent op-ed (out of countless others, including his many acclaimed scholarly books -http://www.amazon.com/Paul-Eidelberg/e/B001HPK7I2 and policy papers) ‘Using Conflict Resolution Tools in Arab-Israel Conflict’ at Israel National News. On the other hand, this blogger is hardly as polite as Professional Eidelberg, therefore, their new term is wackademics; for their cockadoodle/cockamenie/ hackneyed/starry-eyed nonsense, posing as scholarship. Phew.
While the above is intrinsic to the conversation and to the reader’s knowledge base, the following link is GROUNDBREAKING .Yes, the caps are there for a reason. They are placed for much needed emphasis to highlight its efficacy. In brief, it is a recent policy paper by Professor Eidelberg; a paper which this American-Israeli had the privilege to review, and add her thoughts to; duly honored and humbled to have been asked to participate in his myth shattering scholarship.
It is indeed a lengthy paper (about a half hour to digest), but make NO mistake – its contents are earth shaking; unbelievably thought provoking; cogently analyzed; and in particular, its historical analysis and theological basis are spot on. Having read many policy papers this praise is not offered lightly. To wrap things up, the following is offered as “food for thought”: if this blogger could channel George Orwell, at his resting place, she would likely find him nodding his head, thus admonishing the west, especially the acanemics, “you see, in your upside down worldview, those who really require conflict resolution are (centuries in-the-making) immutably opposed to it.
On the other hand, these immovable forces truly understand what constitutes a parallel universe, as they dialogue the west to death, with their goal being submission – yours, dummies!! Pray tell, is there any logical reason – you being so smart and all – or any incentive, for them to give up their most potent weapon – jihad via stealth, or through direct terror?
Mind you, I’ve been resting for a long while, but I haven’t lost my mind ! Didn’t I warn you decades ago; up will be down; down will be up; good will be evil; and jihad will keep on coming.”
