According to U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is known "to have ties to terrorism," and cutting off contact with the Islamist group "should be government-wide policy."
Also according to Schumer, D-N.Y., CAIR is to be applauded "for its determination to continue to spread humanity around the world and to cultivate mutual understanding amongst Americans of all backgrounds and cultures ... I know that the Council on American-Islamic Relations will continue to serve New York State and the nation for many years to come."

Ebru Umar was angry. A Dutch journalist of Turkish heritage, she has been known to take that anger to the page. On the night of April 24, from her summer home in Kusadasi, Turkey, she took it instead to Twitter, raging against a letter the Turkish Embassy in the Netherlands sent to Turkish organizations throughout the country. The message: Please report anyone who has insulted Turkey or its president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. If possible, include the perpetrator's name, e-mail address, and other identifying information.

Two elderly women were stabbed and moderately injured in what police said was a terror attack at the Armon Hanatziv promenade in southern Jerusalem, police said Tuesday morning. Both women were rushed to a local hospital in moderate condition, the Magen David Adom rescue service said.
