Combined operations clear weaons from the streets of Baghdad's Rashid district
BAGHDAD – Iraqi Security Forces and Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers found weapons in Baghdad’s Rashid district Jan 23. Airmen from Detachment 3, 732nd Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, attached to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, partnered with the Arab Jabour Iraqi Police, notified Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, attached to the 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., of a bomb in the Arab Jabour community at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Iraqi SWAT destroys weapons cache
BALAD, Iraq – Tikrit Special Weapons and Tactics recovered a weapons cache during an operation Jan. 21 north of Tikrit, Iraq. The cache consisted of 122 155 mm rounds, six 80 mm rounds, six 122 mm artillery rounds, a 20 mm anti-armor round, 11 155 mm fuses, two 155 mm proximity fuses, an 80 mm mortar round and two mortar tubes.
