PHILADELPHIA – The Middle East Forum announces the appointment of Hillel Zaremba as associate director of Islamist Watch.

Mr. Zaremba has worked as the assistant editor of the Middle East Quarterly since January 2010 and is now joining Islamist Watch to expose and combat non-violent Islamism in the West. He will also run the Forum's lecture series.

Mr. Zaremba earned a B.A. in Near Eastern studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in religious studies from Yale. For much of his career, he focused on developing curricula for schools and other entities in both the private and public sector. Most recently, he served as the curriculum coordinator for CAMERA's "Eyes on Israel" project, helping students apply critical thinking to media coverage of Israel and the Middle East.

As associate director of Islamist Watch, Mr. Zaremba will contribute to investigations of non-violent radical Islam in the United States and throughout the West, while engaging in activism to oppose the stealth jihadists' agenda.

"Radical Islam's encroachment on Western values and institutions can no longer be ignored," explains Mr. Zaremba. "The efforts of Islamist Watch are critical to meeting this challenge and defending our way of life from those who would use our laws and freedoms to subvert it."

"Combating radical Islam begins with education," noted Middle East Forum director Daniel Pipes. "This is a key mission not only of Islamist Watch, but also of the Quarterly and the Forum's lecture series. Mr. Zaremba's background in education offers a vital asset in our work to inform Americans about the threat of Islamism."
