If you ever questioned the desire of radical Islamists for world domination, this newsletter is for you. This week, the validity for this concern became undeniable. First of all, an Islamic news agency reported that scholars, including the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood demanded (note: not suggested) that Mecca become the center for world time, not Greenwich. Is there a more crystal clear example of wanting to literally be the center of the world?

Then there was the South Park situation, which has garnered an enormous amount of media attention. And once again the debate of freedom of speech arises. We as Westerners need to find a way to insist on the protection of this freedom while still finding a way to maintain a certain level of respect for others.

Increasing incidents of Shariah infiltrating the West illustrate that there is a common theme here: we need to find a solution where people can follow their beliefs while not impeding on everyone else’s. However, to date this has not proven easy and the demand for Mecca to be the literal center of the world does not help this situation.

In past newsletters, we have asked for your support in the funding of Clarion Fund’s newest film, documenting the Iranian threat. Thanks to your ongoing contributions, Clarion is excited to announce the launch of the film’s website, Iranium. Stay tuned to future newsletters to follow this exciting progress, and see below how you can take action and get involved today.

Islamic War On Free Speech Heating Up

by Robert Spencer

Four incidents recently showed anew how keenly Islamic supremacists want to shut down the freedom of speech—and how eager many Americans are to accommodate them.

The most notorious incident was Comedy Central’s censorship of a “South Park” episode lampooning Islam’s prophet Muhammad. Even Bill O’Reilly faltered when presented with an opportunity to defend free speech, telling “South Park’s” creators: “I would’ve advised them not to do it. If somebody came to me and said, ‘Look, O’Reilly, I want to do a little satire of Muhammad on “The Factor,”’ I would say I don’t think so, because the risk is higher than the reward.”

The risk of defending free speech against violent threats and intimidation is higher than the reward? If the Founding Fathers had thought that way, we wouldn’t be having this conversation now. If the enemies of free speech, such as those who threatened “South Park’s” Matt Stone and Trey Parker over their Muhammad episode, see that death threats will frighten their victims into silence, they will only issue more death threats. Unless free people stand up and defend the right of free discourse no matter what the risk, we will… more

Shariah and the West

by Stephen Schwartz

On October 28, 2009, Luqman Ameen Abdullah, an African American Muslim, was killed in a shootout with agents of the FBI in Detroit. The dead man was one of twelve individuals sought for firearms violations and conspiracy to engage in theft and fraud. But they were also members of a little-known Islamist network dedicated to the establishment, through violence if necessary, of an enclave on U.S. territory to be governed by Islamic religious law, or Shariah. Their designated candidate to rule this separatist territory was the prominent black nationalist known in the 1960s as H. Rap Brown, and now as Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, who at the time of the Detroit incident was serving a life term without parole at the U.S. federal prison in Florence, Colorado, for murdering a police officer in Georgia (along with other charges).

The conspiracy to establish Shariah in a secessionist enclave within America never, it seems, became a practical attempt. But fantasies of introducing Shariah in the United States have gained increasing attention as American society has come under assault, both globally and domestically, from radical Muslims. The most widely acknowledged case of Shariah imposition so far known originated at the ... more
