Islamic Terrorist Bomber Caught But “Sherlock” Napolitano Still Does Not Get It

Without the vigilance of two Times Square vendors and the quick work of the New York police and fire departments, coupled with a stroke of luck that the bomb did not go off, the attempted car bombing in Times Square last Saturday night could have turned into what Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano likes to refer to as “a man-caused disaster.”
This reminds me of another near “man-caused” disaster Christmas Day that was thwarted by alert passengers aboard a plane headed for Detroit.
Homeland Security continued its record of botches by letting the would-be car bomber get through initial airport security and board a plane out of the country. The 30-year-old naturalized US. citizen from Pakistan, Faisal Shahzad, was reportedly taken off a plane bound for Dubai late Monday at John F. Kennedy International Airport and arrested in connection with the attempted car bombing .
In announcing the arrest, Attorney General Eric Holder said:
It was clear that the intent behind this terrorist act was to kill Americans
Apparently, Faisal Shahzad had just been added to the government’s no-fly list yesterday. Considering Shahzad’s visits to Pakistan over the last year and that the government’s no-fly list was supposed to have been reviewed and updated in light of the gaps that let the Christmas Day bomber escape detection, shouldn’t this guy have been on the no-fly list before just yesterday?
So much for the theory of “Sherlock” Napolitano (as Fox News host Sean Hannity calls our Homeland Security chief) whose initial comment on the failed car-bombing was that there was no evidence of:
anything other than a one-off.
Napolitano is probably still scouring photos of Tea Party protestors to find the real perpetrators.
From her nonsensical response to the Christmas Day bombing that the system is working to her most recent lone-wolf theory of the car bombing attempt, Napolitano is proving that the real man-made disaster here is her continued service as Homeland Security Secretary. It is time for her to resign or be shown the door.
