Virginia Beach City Councilman sends letter protesting “Ground Zero Mosque” to Mayor Bloomberg Urge your local elected officials to do the same! And there’s still time to sign our petition! Late last week Bill DeSteph, a Virginia Beach, Virginia City Councilman and ACT! for America member, mailed a letter protesting the “Ground Zero Mosque” to New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. You can read the letter here and read a news story about it here. We should all be very grateful for the courageous stand Bill has taken. We are proud that as an ACT! for America member and public servant he has set a stellar example for fellow public servants across America. Not surprisingly, Bill is taking some heat for his courageous stand. LET BILL KNOW WE’RE STANDING WITH HIM BY VOTING IN THIS ONLINE POLL.
Consider the impact if 100 city and county officials fired off such a letter to Mayor Bloomberg this week! And 100 more did so next week! The opposition to the “Ground Zero Mosque” is rising. Yesterday, over 5,000 people rallied in Manhattan against the mosque. Nearly 50,000 people have now signed our petition. (If you haven’t, there’s still time to sign by clicking here.) A short video, entitled “Of Mosques and Men,” has had over 42,000 views. This is an excellent commentary on what is really going on here. Please take some action today. There’s still time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT for America P.O.
