Leftist journalist Helen Thomas, who would never be confused with Helen of Troy, thinks all the Jews in Israel should pack up and move to Germany, Poland, and America.
“Tell them to get the hell out of Palestine,” Thomas said in an interview widely circulated on the Internet.
It’s long been known that the radical scribe was an Israel hater, so that video didn’t shock me much.
What shocked to me is the fact that Thomas works with a speakers’ bureau, which as a result of her rant, has dumped her as a client. Imagine that — people actually paid good money to listen to this irrelevant, noxious windbag spout off. Now that’s a shocker.
The left has a strange, long-running relationship with Israel. In Israel’s early days after President Harry Truman took it upon himself to recognize the new state while the rest of the world dawdled, the left supported Israel — probably because the Soviet Union supported Israel. But then the USSR switched sides a decade after Israel’s founding and began supporting Arab states. The Soviet-friendly useful idiots in the West followed suit and began declaring their hatred of Israel which over time moved closer and closer to the United States.
Glenn Beck suggested on his TV show that hatred of Israel originated with outspoken anti-Semite Karl Marx:
In 1844, Karl Marx, self-hating Jew, said, quote: “What is the secularism of Judaism? Practical need, self interest. What is the worldly religion of the Jew? Huckstering. What is the worldly god? Money. Very well then, emancipation from huckstering and money, consequently from practical, real Judaism would be the self-emancipation of our time.”
It turns out Marx has much in common with terrorist sympathizer Max Blumenthal, another radical Israel-hater.
