ACT OF WAR: MUSLIM AMERICAN ET AL ARRESTED IN IRANIAN PLOT TO COMMIT A "SIGNIFICANT TERRORIST ACT IN THE UNITED STATES"
Jihadists teamed with Mexican drug cartels in Mexico (long infiltrated by Hizb'allah) to launch a massive Islamic attack in the United States and assassinate the Saudi ambassador in America.
Further, the plot was to enlist a Mexican drug cartel to help get the explosives and weapons into the US across the southern border.
One of the plotters is in custody; the other is still at large.
Why is that criminal gun runner Holder handling this? This is the Pentagon's jurisdiction.
Has Hamas-tied CAIR filed a lawsuit against the FBI or DEA yet for Islamophobia?
Live blog: FBI, DEA thwart terror plot in U.S. involving Iran, officials say
Washington (CNN) -- U.S. agents have disrupted a $1.5 million "murder-for-hire scheme" involving Iran, Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday.
Holder said the alleged plan was directed by elements of the Iranian government and involved a plot to kill the Saudi ambassador to the United States.
"The U.S. is committed to holding Iran accountable," Holder said.
A spokesman for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday that the alleged plot "is a fabrication."
Ali Akbar Javanfekr said the Iranian government is awaiting details, but suggested U.S. authorities are attempting to distract American citizens from "domestic problems" by convincing them there is an outside threat.
FBI Director Robert Mueller said the alleged terror plot "reads like the pages of a Hollywood script," but the implications are real.
"This case illustrates that we live in a world where borders and boundaries are increasingly irrelevant," Mueller said.
An FBI agent's affidavit obtained by CNN Tuesday accused two men of conspiring to murder Saudi Ambassador Adel Al-Jubeir.
The complaint alleges that Manssor Arbabsiar and Gholam Shakuri began a plot this spring to kill Al-Jubeir.
The U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York called the alleged plot "well-funded and pernicious."
"Details of that murder plot are chilling," Preet Bharara told reporters Tuesday.
In the affidavit, FBI agent O. Robert Woloszyn says the case involves the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Woloszyn described the corps as an arm of the Iranian military that is suspected of being involved in a number of foreign operations.
The IRGC is made up of a number of branches, including the Qods Force, which "conducts sensitive covert operations abroad, including terrorist attacks, assassinations, and kidnappings, and provides weapons and training to Iran's terrorist and militant allies," said the affidavit, which Woloszyn signed on Tuesday.
The Qods Force is accused by U.S. officials as sponsoring attacks against U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq, and in October 2007, the Treasury Department designed them as "providing material to the Taliban and other terrorist organizations," the affidavit said.
Sunni/Shi'ite jihad comes to America: Iranian plot to murder Saudi ambassador to U.S. foiled Jihad WatchMexican drug cartels involved, too. "U.S. Says Iran-Tied Terror Plot in Washington, D.C. Disrupted," by Richard Esposito and Brian Ross for ABC News, October 11:
FBI and DEA agents have disrupted a plot to commit a "significant terrorist act in the United States" tied to Iran, federal officials told ABC News today. The officials said the plot included the assassination of the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States, Adel Al-Jubeir, with a bomb and subsequent bomb attacks on the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, D.C.
Bombings of the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Buenos Aires, Argentina, were also discussed, according to the U.S. officials.
The stunning allegations come against a backdrop of longstanding tensions between Iran and the United States and Saudi Arabia. In the last year, Saudi Arabia has attempted to build an anti-Iran alliance to push back against perceived aggression by Iran in the region.
The State Department has listed Iran as a "state sponsor" of terror since 1984. Officials in Argentina have said Iran was behind an attack on the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires in 1992.
The new case, called Operation Red Coalition, began in May when an Iranian-American from Corpus Christi, Texas, approached a DEA informant seeking the help of a Mexican drug cartel to assassinate the Saudi ambassador, according to counter-terrorism officials.
The Iranian-American thought he was dealing with a member of the feared Zetas Mexican drug organization, according to agents.
The DEA office in Houston brought in FBI agents as the international terror implications of the case became apparent.
The Iranian-American, identified by federal officials as Manssor Arbabsiar, 56, reportedly claimed he was being "directed by high ranking members of the Iranian government," including a cousin who was "a member of the Iranian army but did not wear a uniform," according to a person briefed on the details of the case. Counter-terrorism officials said they believe the cousin may be part of the special operations unit of the Revolutionary Guard, the Quds force.
U.S. officials said Arbabsiar met twice in July with the DEA informant in the northern Mexico city of Reynosa, across the border from McAllen, Texas, and negotiated a $1.5 million payment for the assassination of the Saudi ambassador. As a down payment, officials said Arbabsiar wired two payments of $49,960 on Aug. 1 and Aug. 9 to an FBI undercover bank account after he had returned to Iran.
Federal agents said the DEA and the FBI recorded a number of meetings and phone calls between the informant and Arbabsiar, some of them from Iran.
Officials said Arbabsiar flew from Iran through Frankfurt, Germany, to Mexico City Sept. 28 for a final planning session, but was refused entry to Mexico and put on a plane to New York, where he was arrested.
Arbabsiar, a naturalized U.S. citizen, expressed "utter disregard for collateral damage" in the planned bomb attacks in Washington, according to officials.
He also reportedly told the undercover DEA informant that his contacts in the Iranian government could provide "tons of opium" for the Mexican cartels, according to officials who have reviewed the case file....

QUOTE OF THE DAY
"How have Copts become so unprotected in their own country? Why is it so easy to kill over a dozen of us in a protest while those who stormed into the Israeli embassy were not even harmed?" (more here)
How? Islamic supremacism and imperialism.
