Wallace, issued the following statement today regarding the White House's announcement of sanctions against Iran's Central Bank: This is a positive first step by the White House. Sanctions against Iran's Central Bank, if properly implemented and enforced, will severely isolate the Iranian regime from world markets, and limit the capital it has to pursue nuclear weapons and fund terrorism. We hope President Obama will follow today's announcement with even more robust action to fully cut off the Iranian regime from the international financial system, including sanctioning the Belgium-based SWIFT network for the banking privileges it provides Iran's Central Bank. UANI has regularly called for sanctions against Iran's Central Bank, and on December 2, 2011 wrote to President Obama following reports that the Administration was opposed to such sanctions.
