By Kelly Cook, National Field Director Greetings from ACT! for America’s headquarters. This message is going out to all chapter leaders and chapter volunteers nationwide. We have great news! Our petition drive towards a formal Congressional investigation of CAIR is succeeding so far. In fact, we just cleared 36,000 names this morning! For years CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) has been tied to supporting terrorist groups such as Hamas and was even named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation Trial. Yet, our government has failed to consistently act against this suspect organization (with the exception of the FBI). Through this petition we seek to open a full Congressional investigation into CAIR’s business activities and their status as a 501c3 non-profit organization. It is time that CAIR answer for its operations, but we need your continued help in order to make this happen. I realize most of you have probably signed the petition already. If not, just take a few minutes to sign and then pass it on to anyone who shares your concern for America’s safety against radical Islam. We encourage you to get as many signatures as you can personally. Our goal is 40,000 by December 31! Although many thought we couldn’t do it, 40,000 names of petition supporters are now within our grasp by the end of the year. Help us s-t-r-e-t-c-h to reach this goal! Print off hard copies for your family and friends. Take a copy of the petition signup form and head to a local supermarket or store. The average person can collect 20-25 signatures an hour if they are in a busy location! Let’s continue to keep the heat on CAIR by gaining signatures and support for this petition. But more importantly, if you’re just too busy to carve out a time to specifically collect signatures, just carry the petition form with you in your normal course of activities and give everyone you encounter an opportunity to sign.
