Our work has never been more important!

by Guy Rodgers, Executive Director

No matter what your reaction is to last night’s election results, one thing hasn’t changed—the importance of our work together.

If anything, it’s even more important.

Here’s what we know.

The Obama White House has rolled out the red carpet to groups and individuals connected to the Muslim Brotherhood. This is a fact.

The Obama administration is actively working to purge all references to radical Islam from counterterrorism training and materials. This is a fact.

The Obama administration refuses to characterize “jihad” as a primary motivation for Islamic terrorism. This is a fact.

Would a Romney administration change course in these, and other, areas? Obviously, there’s no way to know with certainty the answer to that.

So we must proceed ahead with strategies and tactics based on what we know.
  • Our work in state legislatures has never been more important. We must continue to make progress in passing laws, such as “American Laws for American Courts” (ALAC), at the state level. We can, and we will, erect firewalls at the state level to stymie the sharia-driven agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliate organizations.
  • Our “Thin Blue Line Project,” which we have been working on for months, has never been more important. While the Obama administration further imposes its politically correct will on counterterrorism training, we will provide the TRUTH to law enforcement professionals.

Next year we will unveil this website resource so that these professionals can easily, in one place, get the truth about jihadist ideology, the Muslim Brotherhood, and more.

We refuse to roll over and let our counterterrorism infrastructure be sanitized to appease Muslim Brotherhood connected organizations like ISNA and CAIR.
  • Our outreach and education program on Capitol Hill has never been more important. Over the past three years, we have reached hundreds of Members of Congress and staffers with information about the threat of radical Islam. With new Members having been elected yesterday, we will re-double our efforts.
  • Our free speech campaign has never been more important. We should expect that the Obama administration will continue its effort to get UN Resolution 16/18 passed. This resolution, which is the work of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, is a direct assault on our first amendment right of free speech.

We are formulating our plans so we can fight it next year with everything we have at our disposal. A slim majority of Americans may have re-elected President Obama, but I am convinced the vast majority of Americans don’t want their freedom of speech muzzled.
  • Our textbook project has never been more important. In March of this year, our “sister” organization released our textbook analysis report, “Education or Indoctrination? The Treatment of Islam in 6th through 12th Grade American Textbooks.”

This was only phase one in a multi-year plan to revisions in our public school textbooks. The success or failure of this project has absolutely nothing to do with who is in the White House.

We will succeed if enough concerned citizens rise up and join us in this effort.
Each of us is now faced with a choice. We can choose to give up and give in, or we can choose to stand up and fight for what we believe.

This morning I received several text messages and emails from chapter leaders who told me they are more determined than ever. They are choosing the course that the great American heroes of our past have chosen, to stare challenges in the face and purpose to overcome them.

When I read those messages, it made my heart swell with pride. How privileged I am to be part of this organization and amazing people like this!

I have two grown children, and my first grandchild is due to be born next year. When I’m tempted to succumb to discouragement, I remind myself what I’m fighting for.

I encourage you to do the same. Now is the time for us to pull together and redouble our resolve, to keep faith with our loved ones, the values we hold dear, and the nation we love. Because if we do, we will ultimately prevail against the evil that is radical Islam.

Yours for a safe and free America,

Guy Rodgers
