After refusing to renounce her
Christian-faith, Meriam Ibrahim showed herself to be, among other things, a
woman of remarkable courage and conviction. She was presented with a choice, a
choice no one should ever have to make: renounce your faith, or suffer
martyrdom. (The punishment in Sudan for the “crime” of apostasy is death by
hanging). She refused, knowing full well the risks she was taking. But I can
only speculate that her abiding sense of faith, and her trust in the Lord, are
what sustained her. And sustain her still.

for all Christians around the globe to redouble our efforts to draw attention
to the plight of the many Christians still suffering cruel and unjust
imprisonment, including Pastor Saeed Abedini in Iran and Kenneth Bae in North

Six Reasons why Americans
should care about the war between Hamas and Israel
Hamas and al-Qaeda are of the same ilk. Brothers in arms, both Islamist
terrorist groups are funded by Iran and
theologically motivated to wage a violent jihad, or holy war, against
the West. Both deadly organizations aspire to
destroy those they consider “infidels” (Americans and Israelis included) while
re-establishing a pan-Arab Caliphate and, in so doing, have killed too many
innocents.
Israel
cannot survive by accommodating a lynch mob. Only by having the courage to defy
it. When the international community at the behest of the Muslim lynch mob
dictates the parameters of Israel's survival, it must expand those parameters
by pushing through them to the other side. If they want to recognize
terrorists, then kill those terrorists. If they want to unilaterally create a
Palestinian state, then annex those territories. Accommodation is a noose.
Defiance is the air of freedom. Every time Israel retreats, it is condemned for
it. When it advances, it is condemned for it also, but its freedom of action expands.
Israel Must Not Repeat the Mistakes of Lebanon
The
fighting in Gaza has now escalated into a
full-scale ground war. For
supporters of Israel, this is a good thing, despite the loss of life to
Israel’s brave fighting men, as well as Arab civilians put in harm’s way by
Hamas. However, this bloodletting will have been in vain, if Israel does not
see things through to the end, which is to say, by militarily defeating Hamas.
The question is will Israel pursue its military objectives as it did say in the
1967 or 1973 Wars, or will it succumb to self-doubt and international pressure
as it did in the 2006 Lebanon War?
Israel
had a rare opportunity to crush Hizb’allah in 2006, but failed to do so. It has
a similar opening now against Hamas, and the military capability to do it. The
only question is does Israel have the determination and the will.
Hamas’s UN Shield
When
Israel unilaterally pulled all of its forces and settlers out of Gaza in 2005
and left behind greenhouses and other facilities that the Palestinians could
have used to begin building an independent state infrastructure and prospering
economy, the answer was Hamas’s reign of terror. Hamas decided instead to use
valuable resources and time to build a military infrastructure from which to
launch unremitting attacks against Israeli civilians. During the current Gaza
conflict, Israel ceased its fire in response to Egypt’s ceasefire proposal.
Hamas kept firing its rockets directed at Israeli civilians and using its own
civilians as human shields.Yet, in its perversion of the truth, the United
Nations shamelessly sides with the jihadists against the rule of law and
civilized behavior.
Hamas Mega-Attack Planned
through Gaza Terror Tunnels
IDF Excavation of the tunnels has resulted in the
seizure of tons of Hamas supplies as well as the discovery of plans for future
operations. Hamas had apparently been preparing a murderous assault on Israeli
civilian targets for the coming Jewish New Year Holiday, Rosh Hashanah, which
begins on September 24, according anonymous sources in the Israeli security
services.

What we are witnessing – as perhaps Albert Camus
would have expressed it – is Israel engaged in a Sisyphean struggle against
Hamas, against Palestinians, against Arabs, against Muslims, and against an
expanding body of opinion in the West that is less and less inhibited from displaying
the rancid anti-Semitism behind its support for those who openly call for
another Holocaust for the Jews. And then there are
those in the West who cheer the Palestinians on in their destructive path, with
false arguments of morality, victimhood, human rights, and heedless of
historical rights of Jews – and insisting that Jews should not do what they
themselves would do in a similar situation, faced with never-ending abuse and
violence.
Arab World Holds Hamas Responsible in Latest Conflict
As Hamas
continues putting Israeli and Palestinian lives in jeopardy by rejecting a
ceasefire and firing rockets, the Islamist terrorist group must be disappointed
at the Muslim world’s reaction. Hamas did not get the usual reflexive support
and fiery backlash against Israel. In fact, it appears that the terrorist
group’s largest support is coming from protests in Europe. The latest round of fighting is remarkable in what did not
happen. There weren’t automatic mass demonstrations against Israel and the
West. No major riots or countless photographs of Israeli and American flags on
fire across the region. No violence against diplomatic facilities. Even though
Fatah fired missiles, there
was no large-scale uprising in the West Bank.
Talk about bad luck. The same family that was killed in
Syria by Assad, was also killed by IDF bombing Gaza few days ago.
A Tale of Two
Gazas
Palestinian UN Ambassador Mansour used his speech
to the Security Council to exploit the tragic loss of life of these children.
He recited the names and ages of Palestinian children who lost their lives
because of what he called Israel’s “murderous rampage,” “savage aggression,”
“state terrorism” and every other pejorative that he could muster. But Israel
did not put those children in harm’s way. Hamas’s cowardly leaders did, while
operating in their secure underground bunkers built beneath the homes,
schools, mosques and hospitals that they have used as their weapons storage
facilities and portals to their tunnels. As Israel’s UN Ambassador Ron Prosor
described Hamas’s exploitation of civilians to the Security Council: “From
the safety of their luxury hotels in Qatar, Hamas leaders like Khaled Mashaal
order room service with one hand and order Hamas to use Palestinians as human
shields with the other.”

Col.
Richard Kemp, the former commander of all British forces in Afghanistan, is in
Israel this week to lend support to the military campaign in Gaza and to take
on take on detractors who claim the Israeli army is perpetrating war crimes
there. “No other army in the world has ever done more than Israel is doing now
to save the lives of innocent civilians in a combat zone,” Kemp said in an
interview with Channel 2 News, adding that when world leaders demand Israel do
more, “perhaps Israel should ask what more it can do.”

After 2,000 years, the Last Christian is Forced to Leave Mosul
The
last Christian reportedly left Iraq's second largest city of Mosul at
12:00pm on Saturday, ending over 6,000 years of Assyrian history in the
city. Assyrians have lived in Mosul for over 6,000 years, converting to
Christianity over 2,000 years ago. This all came to an end on Saturday, when
the last Assyrian Christian left the city.
“Friday at noon was the deadline for Christian families to meet
ISIS’s demands: Convert to Islam, pay an anachronistic Islamic tax for
non-Muslims known as jizya, leave Mosul, or be killed. But the day
before the final exodus, Christians were informed jizya was no
longer an option. The order came to convert, leave, or die.”

jihadists blow up 'Jonah's tomb' in Mosul
The new
jihadist rulers of Iraq's northern city of Mosul on Thursday completely
levelled one its most well-known shrines. The Nabi Yunus shrine was built
on the reputed burial site of a prophet known in the Koran as Yunus and in the
Bible as Jonah.

Canada: Do we really want a parallel Sharia Compliant Economic System in
the West?
I
discovered, quite by accident, that there is a Muslim based economy developing
in Canada: Halal and Sharia Compliant Investments, with their own laws specific
to Sharia law. It has been developing rather quietly for several years. I found
a reference to the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Sharia compliant laws
from 2011 on Blogwrath after I had
already lodged my own complaint with CIBC regarding these investments. I never
heard back from CIBC but I did get a notification from Twitter that I was now
being followed by the investment broker whom I had reported. When Pierre Trudeau declared
us to be a multicultural country he wanted Canada to be a country that was
inclusive, tolerant and accommodating to all. But I don’t think he anticipated
that our country would welcome cultures whose practices are anathema to
Canadian laws. Sharia Law,
authoritarian by nature, is not compatible with Canadian culture.

Trudeau’s more serious adviser is Omar Alghabra, the Saudi-born former
president of the Canadian Arab Federation who briefly served as an MP from
Mississauga. Alghabra has extreme views. When he was president of the Canadian
Arab Federation in 2004, he denounced Canada’s largest newspaper chain for
using the term “terrorist” to describe Muslim terrorist groups like the al-Aqsa
Martyrs Brigade. He said that was a mere opinion, not a fact.

Former head of pro-Palestinian student group accused of hate speech over
violent martyrdom posts on Facebook
A pro-Israel
group says it has complained to Calgary police over Facebook comments made by a
former university student group president who urged Palestinians to ‘‘spill
blood’’ in a fictional story. “My body and soul are ready to fight and die,”
wrote Ala’a Hamdan, former president of Solidarity for Palestinian Human
Rights, a University of Calgary student group. “This land will be proud that
Palestinian babies are born men and women ready to spill their blood.”

Pro-Israel Jews and Christians were attacked by
an angry mob yesterday at Calgary's city hall. The video footage
below shows this clearly. In addition to the males, 2 females were taken to the
ground and kicked by a group of men. They sustained injuries. The crowd also
changed "kill the Jews". The organizer of the rally is a UofC student
and her club. She is previously quoted stating "I will soak a koffiyah in
your blood":
Calgary: Pro-Palestinian protesters aren’t the problem, the cops are
The
Calgary Police Service on the other hand thinks it’s no big deal. One officer
allegedly went so far as to blame the victim for daring to wear an Israeli flag
across the street from the Palestinians (geez, blame the Jews; like most things
cops say, not very original) So let’s see what the complaints of some of the
small group of pro-Israeli protesters are levelling. First there is Jake
Birrell, who has already been mentioned. Jeff Willerton was holding an Israeli
flag was punched and knocked down. And Samantha Hamilton said she saw her
brother and cousin swarmed before she was punched in the eye, thrown to the
ground by her hair and kicked and stepped on. Shane Hamilton, 19, ended up
going to the hospital with a concussion, scrapes, bruises and a bite mark on
his wrist.
In Calgary, Pro-Israel Protester Reportedly Strangled With Israeli Flag; Syrian Refugee Compares Violence to ISIS (VIDEO)
A pro-Hamas rally in Calgary, Canada, turned violent at the weekend, with a report of the extent of the brutality against supporters of Israel published on Wednesday by a dissident blogger who equated the hatred on display as being on par with what he experienced fleeing the civil war in Homs, Syria. Aboud Dandachi, who has written about his support for Israel and is now living in Istanbul, wrote: “The account of the violence inflicted on the small group is sickening,” referring to a television interview of witnesses by Canada’s Sun News on Monday. After the opening clip of the melee, the Sun News announcer exclaimed, “This is Canada for G-d’s sake!”. Dandachi described the victims and drew comparisons to what bloodthirsty terror outfit ISIS had perpetrated in Syria

What the
Caliphate Means
A caliphate represents a
permanent, ideological enemy, not a temporal enemy that can be bought or
pacified through diplomacy or concessions — economic or otherwise. Short of
agreeing either to convert to Islam or live as second-class citizens, or “dhimmis”
— who, among other indignities, must practice their religions quietly; pay a
higher tax [jizyah]; give way to Muslims on the street; wear clothing
that distinguishes them from Muslims, the start of the yellow star of David
required for the Jews by the Nazis during World War II; have their testimony be
worth half of a Muslim’s; and never retaliate against Muslim abuses-the jihad
continues.
A caliphate is precisely what
Islamists around the world are feverishly seeking to establish — before people
realize what it represents and try to prevent it. Without active, preemptive
measures, it is only a matter of time before they succeed.
Tunisia Fights Jihad: Closes mosques
Tunisian
authorities launched a crackdown on all mosques outside state control. The
mosques number around 40 and are run by radical imams. In justifying the move
to close radical mosques, the government said it was not an act against
religious worship, noting the state sponsored religion and fostered freedom of
belief. Authorities also said some of the shuttered mosques celebrated the
deaths of the slain soldiers. It promised to re-open these places of worship as
soon as they were neutralised and subject to the supervision of the state. The
government also closed two religious radio stations, Nour and al-Insen, for
broadcasting speech calling for religious hatred and intolerance. Tunisians
welcomed the government’s action. “This is what we have been waiting for since
the beginning of the terrorist attacks in our country about two years ago,”
commented Miriam Kaitouni. “A courageous decision was needed.”
11 parents of Nigeria's kidnapped girls die from attacks and stress
At
least 11 parents of the more than 200 kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls will never
see their daughters again. Since the mass abduction of the schoolgirls by
Islamic extremists three months ago, at least 11 of their parents have died and
their hometown, Chibok, is under siege from the militants. After three months,
few Chibok residents believe all the schoolgirls will ever return home.
Family
considers killing 10-year-old daughter after mullah rapes her in
Afghanistan mosque
It was bad
enough that the alleged rape took place in the sanctity of a mosque and that
the accused man was a mullah who invoked the familiar defence that it had been
consensual sex. But the victim was only 10 years old. And there was more: The
authorities said her family members openly planned to carry out an honour
killing in the case – against the young girl. The mullah offered to marry his
victim instead. This past week, the awful matter became even worse. On Tuesday,
local policemen removed the girl from the shelter that had given her refuge and
returned her to her family, despite complaints from women’s activists that she
was likely to be killed.
Muslim Double Standards Abound
As long as it's an Arab army annihilating fellow Arabs or a Muslim military murdering fellow Muslims, too many Muslims simply shrug away our responsibility and say, "leave it to Allah" as the Qur'an supposedly commands. However, if the Muslim falls victim to the "kuffar" — meaning the Jew, Christian or Hindu — then many of our clerics take to the pulpit and deliver fiery, end-of-times lectures, using the tragedy as a reason to ignite hatred against the other, in most cases "The Jew".

Immigrants and Their Suicidal Prey
How do former empires get
colonized by their own colonies? It defies all logic, yet somehow, this is what
has come to be in Europe. In the midst of a full-blown conquista, after what
began as a simple plan to bring over some cheap labor to do the work the
natives couldn’t be bothered with, Europe is aiding and abetting in its own demise.
Muslim immigration has become a Muslim takeover.

“Where is the
president on this?” he asked. “This is persecution of Christians who predate
the Muslims by 600 years in the Middle East. These people in Mosul were there
before there was Islam in the same way that the Jews of Baghdad — who were
about a third of the population in the late 40s — who were expelled were there
a thousand years before that. This is the exclusivity of this kind of
radicalism.” He continued. “He talked about how disrespectful we were to
Muslims in many of his speeches. Where is he standing up for the Christian
minorities in Egypt, in Lebanon, in Palestine, among other places in the West
Bank, and now in Iraq as a way to say we care about this and America cares
about this, instead of a dumb statement coming out of the State Department.”
I can tell you where he is. He’s on
the side of the Islamists. He always has been. It doesn’t take a rocket
scientist to come to this conclusion. The problem is that too many people are
too scared to call him out for what he is, because they don’t believe such evil
could exist or even come to power in the good old USA, but it has.
The Arabic Writing on the Wall
It takes courage to speak out against the threatening presence of Islam in today’s world. And it
takes courage to defend those who have the courage to speak out. Europe has
learned its lesson the hard way and it is doubtful whether she will ever
recover. If the United States is to avoid the fate of Europe, which seems
destined to become Eurabia unless she can be re-evangelized with the Christian
culture of life, it must heed the hard lessons and avoid the mistakes of
multiculturalism and prevent any future mass migration of non-Christians into
North America. We have been warned. We have seen the Arabic writing on the
wall.

Deadly Mosquito Borne Diseases Spread: New EEE, West Nile, Chikungunya
Outbreaks
There are a
number of outbreaks of mosquito-borne illnesses currently making the rounds in
the Continental United States. Among those diseases are the potentially lethal
West Nile Virus, a less lethal but extremely serious Chikunyungya
threat, and the most serious threat of EEE (Eastern Equine Encephalitis) that is fatal in
one-third of reported cases. EEE has been confirmed in Massachussets. Be careful out there this
summer friends. Any of these isolated incidences are larger outbreaks in the
making.
