UANI President Gary Samore Corrects Time Magazine Op-ed

The headline assigned to my op-ed in Time magazine on the tentative Iran nuclear agreement does not accurately reflect my views. In the piece, I explain the main strengths and weaknesses of the emerging deal, emphasizing that - at best - it buys time, but does not resolve the threat. Moreover, a number of critical issues remain to be resolved, including the timing and conditions for sanctions relief, the establishment of a verification and enforcement mechanism, and measures to complete the IAEA investigation of past weaponization activities. The outcome of these issues are not mere technical details. They are essential to making a final judgment on whether the comprehensive agreement serves U.S. interests.
