What’s going in Canada? Another politician being persecuted for “racism” for challenging “extreme Liberal multiculturalism”

What’s going in Canada? Another politician being persecuted for “racism” for challenging “extreme Liberal multiculturalism”

Conservative MP Maxime Bernier is once again lambasting what he sees as “extreme multiculturalism” and political correctness as other senior Tories appear to be distancing themselves from his views.
Bernier also referred to “a months-old post from Liberal MP Iqra Khalid, a backbencher best known as the sponsor of the M-103 motion condemning Islamophobia and all forms of religious discrimination.” He stated:
Canada under extreme Liberal multiculturalism: While a statue of our country’s founder is being removed in one city, a park was recently named after Pakistan’s founder in another, in the presence of M103 Liberal MP sponsor
As expected, Bernier is being taken to the woodshed:
Liberal MP Arif Virani, the parliamentary secretary to the heritage minister, is now calling on the Conservative leader to boot Bernier from caucus.
That’s right, no discussion about the issues, just fire Bernier — that’s the message coming from Virani.
A similar ruckus happened in the case of UK politician Boris Johnson — who could now be sent for “diversity training” for making a joke and comparing how women look wearing the Islamic face veil to “letter boxes” and “robbers.”
Ditto for Conservative Senator Denise Batters, who apologized to Liberal MP Omar Alghabra for her “choice of words” in a tweet. Some rushed to accuse her of tweeting out a “racist” remark when she queried Alghabra’s opinion of Canada’s condemnation of Saudi Arabia because of his birthplace (Saudi Arabia). Aside from Batter’s “choice of words,” there is and was significant reason to be concerned about Alghabra, as was summarized on Jihad Watch. Conservative Member of Parliament Blain Calkins also caused an outcry and quickly apologized to Alghabra and unjustifiably discredited the blogpost that investigated Alghabra. That blog was long updated in a correction that included eyewitnesses. Calkins, however, never referred to the updated information. Instead, he “deleted his tweet and apologized for ‘any consternation’ it caused.” Then came a shameless, unsubstantiated, vicious attack by the Chronicle Herald in Halifax on the Conservative Party of Canada for being as “risky as ever,” while accusing Calkins of “anti-Islamic hysteria” and fueling “Islamophobia.”
Canadians have even found themselves in the position under the Liberal government of not even being able to access federal funding for summer job programs if applications do not declare their support for abortion. This prompted the former Ambassador to the Office of Religious Freedoms, Dr. Andrew Bennett, to state that the Government of Canada is showing “totalitarian tendencies.”  In keeping with those tendencies, the Trudeau government is also cracking down on those it deems to be “Islamophobic” as a followup to anti-Islamophobia Motion M-103, which was ushered in by those found to be connected to the Muslim Brotherhood. Those same players will now have a role in judging who is deemed to be “Islamophobic,” a role funded by Canadian taxpayers, against the wishes of many.
Marriam-Webster defines persecution as:
to harass or punish in a manner designed to injure, grieve, or afflict; specifically to cause to suffer because of belief.
In Canada today, there is a price to be paid when one speaks the truth about Islamic supremacist entitlements, the global jihad, the worst kinds of abuses against innocent people in the name of Islam, the documented plans of the Muslim Brotherhood for North America, or when one says anything that might offend Muslims. One is subsequently faced with what amounts to persecution: threats, intimidation, calls for dismissal, insults, bullying, being called a “racist,” an “Islamophobe,” “far right.” “intolerant,” “xenophobic,” and the like. The slanderers have no proof of their accusations, nor any accountability as they flog their opponents in the public square.
With multiculturalism and open immigration have come a flood of individuals and groups from despotic regimes that do not ascribe to freedom of thought or pluralism. Islamic states are rife with supremacism and abuse — sanctioned by laws of gender inequality, creed inequality, and sometimes racial inequality, as black slaves are still held in many Muslim countries, including Mauritania, Algeria and Sudan.
When adherents of such belief systems enter into Canada, they do not leave their doctrines at the border. Instead of being expected to assimilate, they are bestowed a “right” to exercise their values, which includes supremacist entitlements that transcend democratic values.
Whoever challenges them is persecuted, and attempts to marginalize them are ferocious.
One can disagree with Member of Parliament Maxime Bernier with intellectual discussion, open dialogue and free discussion. Any sensible individual — if he or she believes that Bernier is “racist” — is free to openly challenge his views, ask him to explain why he holds those views, etc. Dialogue about important public issues is now missing from Canada. It is only allowed if one agrees with Islamic supremacists and globalists; otherwise, one is persecuted. No one will ultimately escape this troubling pattern in Canada, if this continues.
“Multiculturalism,” “diversity,” and “racism” are not harmful words in and of themselves, but they have evolved to signify that special status must be assigned to Islamic supremacists, especially when they scream “Islamophobia” in the face of dissent.
It is time to start expecting Muslims to practice diversity of thought, acceptance of other beliefs and cultures as equal to their own, acceptance of women as equals, and respect for democratic rules, culture and history. If they do not, then they must face consequences without partiality.
The hoopla that is created whenever a Conservative speaks his or her mind will not go away, but neither will loyalty to Canada’s democratic heritage. Increasingly, moderate leftists have also expressed concerns about Canada’s diminishing freedoms. People’s eyes are collectively opening to the elephant in the room. There will always be racists among every group of people, but those brave enough to call out threats to democracy in the name of “multiculturalism” are not racists.

“Maxime Bernier Doubles Down On Tweets About ‘Extreme’ Multiculturalism,” by Ryan Maloney,  Huffington Post, August 15, 2018:
Conservative MP Maxime Bernier is once again lambasting what he sees as “extreme multiculturalism” and political correctness as other senior Tories appear to be distancing themselves from his views.
Bernier took to Twitter Tuesday night and Wednesday morning to comment on a Winnipeg park recently named in honour of Pakistan’s founder, as well as a possible new statutory holiday marking the shameful legacy of residential schools.
The comments come on the heels of earlier eyebrow-raising tweets in which the veteran Quebec MP accused Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of pushing “ever more diversity” that could divide Canadians into “little tribes that have less and less in common.”
‘Canada under extreme Liberal multiculturalism…’
On Tuesday, Bernier responded to a months-old post from Liberal MP Iqra Khalid, a backbencher best known as the sponsor of the M-103 motion condemning Islamophobia and all forms of religious discrimination. The motion became a flashpoint of debate last year.
Khalid tweeted in May to mark the inauguration of a Winnipeg park named after Pakistan founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
“Canada under extreme Liberal multiculturalism: While a statue of our country’s founder is being removed in one city, a park was recently named after Pakistan’s founder in another, in the presence of M103 Liberal MP sponsor,” he wrote. “Pakistan independence from India led to 1M deaths.”
Bernier was referencing the City of Victoria’s recent move to take down a statue of Sir John A. Macdonald because of the role Canada’s first prime minister played in establishing residential schools.
Though the step was taken as part of a reconciliation campaign with local Indigenous communities, Tory Leader Andrew Scheer said it was an example of political correctness being used to “erase history.”
Bernier also shared his thoughts Wednesday on a report from The Globe and Mail that said the Trudeau government will declare a new statutory holiday marking the pain caused by residential schools, as recommended in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The MP called instead for something celebrating the “heritage and renewal” of Indigenous cultures.
“Cult of victimhood and obsession with past wrongs instead of focus on the progress made and to come are another sick characteristic of extreme PC and multiculturalism,” Bernier wrote.
Liberal MP Arif Virani, the parliamentary secretary to the heritage minister, is now calling on the Conservative leader to boot Bernier from caucus.
In letter released Wednesday, Virani accused Bernier of attacking “all Pakistani-Canadians”….
