AP:
"The EU on Tuesday banned most of Iran Air's jets
from flying to Europe because of safety concerns, emphasizing that the move was
not related to U.N. sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program. The 27-nation bloc also relaxed restrictions
on two airlines from Indonesia and put a Suriname airline on its blacklist of
carriers the EU believes do not meet international safety standards." http://bit.ly/9TJduG

Dow Jones: "BP PLC (BP, BP.LN) has instructed its European
operations not to refuel Iranian airlines after U.S. President Barack Obama
signed sanctions targeting Iran's gasoline supplies, people familiar with the
matter said Monday. The ban by one of
Europe's largest aviation fuel suppliers comes as Iranian media said airports
in the U.K., Germany and the United Arab Emirates had refused to refuel Iranian
passenger jets." http://bit.ly/bQmVNw

it's ready for talks on the country's nuclear program but that the EU must

Tuesday. The TV said the letter was sent
by Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili, to EU's foreign policy chief,
Catherine Ashton, detailing Tehran's conditions for the talks." http://bit.ly/brmyd3

AP: "China said Tuesday that the United States and other

Tehran between opposition activists and authorities in preparation for the

election, the largest outpouring of antigovernment sentiment since the 1979
Islamic revolution." http://bit.ly/a4yD0C

Radio Farda: "A former Iranian parliament deputy has
called for the government to examine its handling of an investigation into

Radio Farda: "Iran has unveiled haircuts that according

considered 'Western' and fashionable have been warned in recent years." http://bit.ly/a5ehxS

Domestic Politics

AP: "Iranian helicopters scattered flowers into the
Persian Gulf waters on Saturday as family members and relatives remembered the
290 passengers killed when a U.S. warship shot down an Iranian airliner 22
years ago. About 250 relatives of
victims and officials sailed from the southern port city of Bandar Abbas to the
spot where the Iran Air A300 Airbus was downed on July 3, 1988 - just a month

time frame." http://bit.ly/cu5rQG

Opinion

NYT Editorial Board: "The legislation, which President
Obama signed into law on Thursday, is part of an intensifying international
campaign to pressure Tehran into abandoning its illicit nuclear program - a
goal we strongly support. Extraterritorial sanctions are always problematic.
They can open American companies to retaliation and provoke a political
backlash." http://nyti.ms/cw7Kg3

Meir Javedanfar in Real Clear World: "Turkish Prime
Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has suddenly found himself reassessing his
government's burgeoning ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran - and sooner
than expected. One of the reasons Turkey
agreed to Iran's demands and voted against new UN Sanctions was because the
Iranian government promised that it would continue to negotiate with the West.
However, it did not take long for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to break his
promise." http://bit.ly/9kivv0

Yoel Guzansky in The Jerusalem Post: "To attack or not to
attack Iran? That is the question - or rather, one of the questions - asked as
part of a "global attitudes survey" conducted by the Pew Research Institute in
Washington. And the results? Surprising, especially with respect to attitudes
toward Iran and its nuclear program. The
survey canvassed 22 countries, was conducted in the mother tongue of the
respondents, and included relatively large sample groups. Eight out of 10
Germans, seven out of 10 Frenchmen and six out of 10 Britons hold negative
views about Iran." http://bit.ly/c7zosq
