Eighteen Taliban fighters were wiped out in a suicide mission aimed at killing Prince Harry, it emerged today.
Two
US marines died in the four-hour assault that breached the perimeter
wall of Camp Bastion, the most heavily defended British base in
Afghanistan, where the royal Army captain is based.
The insurgents yesterday managed to get within 2,000m of the Prince, 28, as they stormed on to the main runway.
“It bears all the signs of a suicide mission,” said a military source. “The attackers had no chance of success.”
Taliban
sources later released a video claiming to show smoke pouring from
Bastion. A spokesman, Qari Yousef Ahmadi, said: “Our fighters attacked
the base with great success killing several of the invaders.
“We
do not believe Harry, the Prince, was killed in this attack but we will
continue to attack without mercy and, God willing, we will kill the
Prince. That is our intention.”

Apache attack helicopter pilot Harry was with other air crew when the attack began after 10pm local time on Friday.

He said: “It is disturbing that they managed to breach the perimeter.
“That must be looked at. Prince Harry should finish his tour. I’m sure he is very keen to do so and knows the risks.”
An
MoD spokesman added: “The deployment of Captain Wales has been long
planned and the threat to him and others around him thoroughly
assessed.”

The gravity of the existential threat we face from Islamic Jihad is truly of epic proportions. It is essentially a battle pitting free-civilized man against a totalitarian barbarian. The left's appeasement and pandering to evil is nothing new. What makes their utopian delusions so infuriating and unpardonable is that it is not only they who will have to pay the consequences, and deservedly, so, they are thwarting and undermining our best efforts at resistance and are thus dragging us down in the process as well.
