UANI Issues Statement on Failure of P5+1 and Iran to Reach Nuclear Agreement and President Rouhani's Comments
UANI Renews Call for Congress to Act
New York, NY - United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) CEO, Ambassador Mark D. Wallace, issued the following statement today:

The failure to reach agreement in Geneva and President Rouhani's public statements suggest a wide divergence between Iran and responsible governments.

Rouhani claims that enrichment is a "red line," and Iran's "right" under international law. In fact no such right exists in any treaty or international agreement. The UN Security Council, in Resolutions 1696 and 1737, expressly demanded that Iran suspend all enrichment-related activities. Iran's enrichment is in violation of international law.

UANI renews its call for the U.S. Congress to debate the essential terms of any Iran nuclear deal. Such a deal should include Iran's suspension of enrichment and reprocessing-related activities for year(s).
