UANI Issues Statement Regarding French Foreign Minister's Warning to the P5+1
Foreign Minister Fabius: We Don't Want a "Fool's Bargain"

New York, NY -
Today, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) issued a statement regarding French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius's warning to his fellow P5+1 negotiators in Geneva. Fabius today stated that: "We are still not there. ...We want an agreement, but not a fool's bargain."

Said UANI CEO, Ambassador Mark D. Wallace:
After 34 years of hostile behavior by the Iranian regime, the P5+1 should heed Foreign Minister Fabius's warning. Any interim agreement should include a substantial pullback by Iran that severely limits its ability to produce fissile material, including the suspension of enrichment and reprocessing-related activities as demanded by the P5 in multiple UN Security Council resolutions. A freezing of development in Iran's nuclear program, in its current advanced state, will not allay the international community's concerns.
Freezing Iran's nuclear program five years ago, at a time when the regime had some 6,000 centrifuges, could have served to allay the international community's concerns. Today, however, Iran has an industrial-sized program of nearly 20,000 centrifuges.
