ACT! FOR CANADA NEWSLETTER - JULY 4, 2014
Remember that
all through history, there have
been tyrants
and murderers, and for a time,
they seem
invincible. But in the end,
they always
fall. Always.”
THE CONTINUING ISIS CRISIS
ISIS Formally Issues a ‘Declaration of the
Islamic Khilafa’
ISIS has formally declared the establishment of a caliphate, or Islamic
state, in the vast stretches of the Middle East that have fallen under its
control, and has outlined a vision to expand into Europe. Upon declaring a
caliphate, the Sunni militants – whose brutality in attempting to establish
control in Iraq and Syria has been branded too extreme even by Al Qaeda –
demanded allegiance from Muslims around the world.
The
Caliphate Restored
The caliphate was abolished by the secular
Turkish government in 1924. The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in Egypt in 1928
partly as a reaction to the end of the caliphate, and from the beginning a
central part of its program has been the need to work toward restoring it and
then recovering lands that had been lost to Islam. Brotherhood founder Hasan
al-Banna explained:
“We want the Islamic flag to be hoisted once again on high, fluttering
in the wind, in all those lands that have had the good fortune to harbor Islam
for a certain period of time and where the muzzein’s call sounded in the
takbirs and the tahlis. Then fate decreed that the light of Islam be
extinguished in these lands that returned to unbelief. Thus Andalusia, Sicily,
the Balkans, the Italian coast, as well as the islands of the Mediterranean,
are all of them Muslim Mediterranean colonies and they must return to the
Islamic fold. The Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea must once again become
Muslim seas, as they once were.”
ISIS' Next Targets: Jordan and Saudi Arabia
The Islamic State of
Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the former Al-Qaeda affiliate that has seized over
one-third of Iraq, is open about its desire to establish a new caliphate with Baghdad
as its capital. ISIS supporters are distributing propaganda on social media
indicating its next targets towards that goal are Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
ISIS Already in Gaza Strip
Hamas seems to be losing control of the dozens of
terror cells in the Gaza Strip. Hamas prevented local journalists from covering
the ISIS rally in the Gaza Strip last month as part of its effort to deny the
existence of ISIS in the Gaza Strip. But Hamas seems to be trying to cover the
sun with one finger. The Gaza Strip
is no longer a threat to Israel, but also to the national security of Egypt. The
only way to confront this threat is through security cooperation between Israel
and Egypt, which have a common interest in preventing the Islamists from
exporting their terrorism beyond the borders of the Gaza Strip.
ISIS and the CIA Connection
The very details of the ISIS military success in the key Iraqi oil
center, Mosul, are suspect. According to well-informed Iraqi journalists, ISIS
overran the strategic Mosul region, site of some of the world’s most prolific
oilfields, with barely a shot fired in resistance. According to one report, residents of Tikrit
reported remarkable displays of “soldiers handing over their weapons and
uniforms peacefully to militants who ordinarily would have been expected to
kill government soldiers on the spot.”
Islam’s Long History of Intolerance and
Violence
The threat of Islam has been noted from its earliest years throughout
history. It has no restrictions on slavery. It relegates women to a subservient
class. It shares no moral resistance to murder, kidnapping and other crimes so
long as they are committed in the name of “jihad”—holy war. Today there is no
greater threat to mankind than Islam. As far as Islam is concerned, you are the
enemy, to be converted, enslaved, or killed.
Obama’s
Secret Directive Supporting Global Islamism
A recent Gulf News report sheds some light on how and why the United States helped
bring the Muslim Brotherhood and its Islamist allies to power, followed by
all the subsequent chaos and atrocities in the Mideast region
In light of all the chaos the
Islamists have been responsible for in Libya, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, et al—is it
now obvious why Arab autocrats like Gaddafi, Saddam Hussein, Hosni Mubarak, and
currently Bashar Assad have always “banned” and “fiercely pursued” the
Brotherhood and its affiliates?
The One-Way Street of
Islamic Tolerance by Paul Weston
This perverse double standard is the sign of
a country, culture and people with no stomach for survival it would seem. Given
the demographic rise of Islam in Britain, coupled with the increasing
radicalization of Muslim youth, survival is something we should really be
thinking about, shouldn’t it? But whilst the treacherous elites continue to
appease the intolerance of Islam, we must sadly conclude that those who will
have to actually fight for survival will not be those who could have stopped it
whilst it could be decisively stopped. Instead, it is our young children and
the yet-to-be-born who will have to fight against a far stronger enemy in the
future, and an enemy which at that point in time might just be too powerful to
defeat.
The world is in flames because
of jihad, and yet the fog of deception is thicker than ever. If you have ever
tried to point out to friends or coworkers the violent texts and teachings of
Islam that jihadists use to justify violence and supremacism, you may have
experienced its effects yourself: charges of “racism,” “bigotry,” and “hatred”;
invocations of the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the Book of Joshua; and a
reminder that the Catechism of the Catholic Church says that Muslims “together
with us…adore the one, merciful God” (841).
This fog of deception and willful ignorance is only
hindering genuine attempts to formulate positive and effective ways to limit
the power of Islamic teachings to incite to violence. But it doesn’t look as if
it is going to clear anytime soon.
“Robert Spencer incarnates intellectual
courage when, all over the world,
governments, intellectuals, churches,
universities and media crawl under a
hegemonic Universal Caliphate’s New
Order. His achievement in the battle for
the survival of free speech and dignity
of man will remain as a
fundamental monument to the love of, and
the self-sacrifice for, liberty.”

ISRAEL AND
“PALESTINE”
Obama’s
Dance With Radical Islam
Last month, President Barack
Obama chose to support and fund a Palestinian Authority (PA) government that
includes Hamas, a U.S. and EU-designated terrorist group that calls in its
charter for the destruction of Israel (Article 15) and the murder of Jews (Article
7). Also last month, Obama freed five senior Taliban terrorist commanders in
exchange for an American serviceman who may have been a deserter.
Obama could have cut funding to
the PA, which would have made sense strategically, and could have supported a
close, long-standing American ally, Israel. He could have refused any exchange
of senior Taliban leaders. Why didn’t he? Because he supports engagement with
radical Islam.
As Global Anti-Semitism Rises, We Must Stop Funding Terror
A society dedicated to the rule
of law, the preservation of ethics, and the principles of liberty and freedom
must not be party to such atrocities. Instead, we must raise our voices and
demand that our government stop funding these reprehensible dictators. As long
as our taxpayer dollars are funding the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, we are
indirectly responsible for every rocket they fire, every Jew-hating textbook
they publish, every anti-American television show they broadcast, every street
they name after terrorists, and every human being they murder. Enough is
Enough.
STAND UP AND BE COUNTED.
Hamas, the terror group that murdered the three teens, is not a
Palestinian nationalist organization, though it occasionally plays the part.
Its charter begins with Allah and ends with Allah. Article Five of its charter
states that the group extends to “wherever on earth there are Muslims, who
adopt Islam as their way of life”. Its goal is to create an Islamic state.
Everything else is secondary. It’s not about physical territory. It’s about
spiritual territory. It’s not about nationalism. It’s about Islamism. It’s not
about the “Occupation”. It’s about Islam.
McGill
Professor Highlights Obama's 'Callousness' Toward Israel
As Israel
mourns and fights, as Israeli soldiers take great risks to root out those
kid-killing terrorists and their armories, Obama will demand “restraint.”
Meanwhile, The New York Times will run absurdly amoral articles comparing
Israeli kids victimized for being Israelis with Palestinian kids hurt while
menacing soldiers, the UN will condemn Israel, and Israel will have to continue
protecting itself militarily while fending off an ideological onslaught. That’s
why it is fair to denounce Obama’s incompetence and iciness, along with
Palestinian evil and enablement.
The Time for Meaningful Action has Come by
David Solway
The response to the murder of the three abducted Israeli teens, Eyal
Yifrah, Gilad Shaar, and Naftali Fraenkel, has been predictable in its call for
restraint and moderation. Left-wing organizations like the
Israeli political party Meretz, the New Israel Fund, and J Street, wedded to
nebulous and self-serving concepts like “social justice,” ramble
on about calm, measure, reconciliation, and the larger interests of communal
peace — as if avowedly vicious and homicidal entities like Hamas and its
offshoots will feel humbled and ashamed of their murderous practices and will
experience a benign change of heart. In fact, they are busy celebrating what
they regard as a revanchist victory — indeed, candies were handed out to mark
the abduction and the ambulance ferrying the bodies of the slain teens was pelted with stones and spray-painted
by Palestinian villagers — and will not be deterred from carrying out further
atrocities in the future if they are allowed to get away with them.
We, However Are Guilty by Mordecai Keder
Accusing fingers are pointed at Hamas, and I believe that the Israeli
government has proof of the movement's involvement, or that of its members, in
the despicable crime. Except that I do not only accuse Hamas, just as I would
not accuse a poisonous viper for biting a child whose father brought the snake
home and freed him to roam about at will inside it. The snake is not guilty
because it is in his nature to bite. The father is the guilty party, and
everyone understands that. In the case of the boys, the guilty party is also
whoever brought the snake inside the house and allowed him freedom to move
around undisturbed.
It was unbearable to see the greatest "Architect of Oslo"
(referring to Israel's current president, Shimon Peres, ed.) stand at the
funeral of Naftali, Gilad and Eyal, eulogize them and not say the simple and
most necessary sentence of all: "We, however, are guilty (the words of
Joseph's brothers in the Bible), we who opened the gates to our land to the
terrorists, allowing them to build an entity based on hatred, incitement and
lies, death and suffering. We who allowed the snake into our house, put our
security in his hands and allowed him to kill three of our finest boys in cold
blood.
REST IN PEACE
As we stood with and
embraced the families following the kidnapping and brutal murder of Eyal
Yifrach, Naftali Frankel and Gilad Shaar, we stand with them once more,
sharing their grief and wishing them strength at this tragic time.
ACT! For Canada joins all
of Israel, and good people around the world, in mourning Eyal, Naftali and
Gilad. May their memories be a blessing to all people of goodwill.
