Chris Cuomo and I go at it again. Cuomo arguing for submission, Geller arguing for freedom. But to Cuomo’s credit, he does have me on to discuss it in a respectful manner, one on one, without Islamic apologists or terror-linked operatives like CAIR spewing their libel and lies.
I will not accept Islamic jihadists defining the parameters of speech in the US. The point is not to mock Muslims or Islam, but we will not submit to the assassin’s veto.
The jihadis made the cartoons the flash point, not I, when they killed over the Danish cartoons and then killed the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists. It is not “good judgment” to submit in the face of this and stop doing what they kill over — it only sends the signal that they can get their way by killing us.
That only will encourage them to issue more threats and kill more people. It is the best of judgement.
This is a showdown for civilization. Will we defend free speech or abandon it because we don’t like the speaker, or are afraid of getting killed? What happened to the spirit of Give me liberty or give me death?
Muslims who understand the importance of the freedom of speech and its position as the cornerstone of a free society should be standing with us, just as I stood with the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists even though I found some of their cartoons offensive. What is at stake? Everything that makes a free society free. The one who dictates what can or cannot be said over whether or not he is offended is the one who rules. I will not live as a slave.
